    My god. The solution to all this is so simple.

    Widen the gap between minimum wages and benefits!

    How? For starters, reduce benefits. Food is one of the biggest costs and it is possible to find very cheap food in this country. No spare for mobiles and sky etc...

    Secondly, put the higher tax rate back up and use it to give tax breaks to companies so that the nmw wage can be raised. Also, use the money saved from reducing benefits to help raise the nmw.

    Coupled with the plans for universal credits, bedroom taxes etc.. would solve the whole issue once and for all.

    Unfortunately with this tory administration, we are unlikely to see the rich chip in to solve the problem, and that is an essential part of it.
