Hi all, ive also got this laptop and upgraded to 512mb ram, has anyone else installed Halo or JDoom? as both of these games have graphical glitches, halos the worst(seems to flicker from a full size display to a quarter size one) and JDoom's floor textures flash white when you move. Ive installed The Sims 2, with no probs and a few others, and i know this lappy isnt built for gaming, i just wondered if someone else had the same problem with their laptop. (i could do with halo working -ive updated it to the latest version aswell) cheers

Nope. The HDD died because it is just rubbish. You know it's bad when Bios keeps disabling the drive. One minute, MS Powerpoint was happily working away. Next minute, dead. You should hear the grinding noise it makes now when I try to boot it up. I even phoned the PB support line and let the technician there listen to my HDD trying to boot. He agreed that it's an ex-HDD. It has ceased to be. It has gone to meet its maker, or will be going to meet its maker tomorrow morning, rather... :(

Western Digital - enough said. ;)

    Hi
I am new to the computers and may sound daft but please bear with me. don't know if this question has been answered before .
My notebook is not starting. It did n't switch on and shows blinking green light on the left of 3 tiny lights ( below the screen) and on the right there is green light. It is connected to the mains. It however doesnot start when I push the power button.
    Any help will be appreciated.

probabaly in sleep mode...The constant green light is usually power, blinking usually means charging or sleep mode.

Try and hold the power button in for 4 seconds (slightly longer even) as most systems these days are designed not to be turned off accidently and obviously by holding the power button in for 4 seconds would show it's not an accident. If the light then goes out, you should be able to just turn it back on as normal
    Welcome, rogerramjet.
