I have the Fujitsu Amilo L7300 which is 256, would this 256mb from PCW at £22 add into any laptop?0

zaccy - that's the pci card I've ordered. Don't think the laptop has an antenna built in, though, so may need to fit one yourself?
edinburghlass: You need to find out what type of ram is in your laptop. The PC World ram is 256MB PC2700 200 Pin SODIMM.
Just checked for you - the PC World ram is fine for your laptop. HTHIn a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

Got it today, £22...and thanks for the tip on removing the cover... It's easy when you know how

Can I ask where you got your Fujitsu from and is it any good? It's just that PC world are qouting £580 and comet £440 for the same machine, but the specs look different0 -

Gambler its the first laptop I have had so I have nothing to compare it with!
I got the Comet one with no modem, 256 and CD rw not DVD rw which I think are the differences.
As I have a wireless connection on my desktop and had a spare usb thingy, I wasn't concerned about lack of modem or wireless connection. Also I have a DVD RW on my desktop so only wanted the laptop to be able to play DVDs.
So all in all I am quite happy with it and if I can add the 256 to make it 512 for just £22, I am even happier

ty, I would have to get a wireless connection anyway so that's not a problem. Unfortunately I don't have a DVD RW on my desktop.
Thanks for your help thouch, much appreciated.0 -

HHHMMM .......
OK, I have the extra 256MB of Ram, (shows up in my computer screen)and done very little else to clean up or sort the laptop. (ie. remove NAV), however, I have a question. One reason for getting the laptop was so the little lad could play Football Manager 2005..... Well, I have installed the game, and he's playing away merrily... the problem is the fan runs continually?
I've elevated the !!!!!! end to increase airflow, but it keeps on running. If we close Football Manager 2005 the fan runs a bit then stops.
Now I know this isn't a "games" machine, but rightly or wrongly I thought given the kind of game it is, there would be no issues, so...........
a) Is the fan running, "normal" based on the above?
b) If it's "normal", can I do anything to stop it? (i.e. will removing the junk help)?
c) If it's not "normal", is this likely to cook/screw up the laptop long term?
Ta in advance
Edit: I just notice the following....
Minimum Requirements: 600Mhz processor, 128MB Ram.
Recommended PC: 1.8Ghz processor, 256MB Ram.The MSE Dictionary
