How hot does everyone's get on their lap ? - my fan does kick in but not very often
It gets alot hotter than My current (old Dell) , and my previous Sony Vaio - only got this hot just before it died?

Anyone seen the other model at £499 - Celeron with built in wireless
PACKARD BELL E2310

would that be a better buy than Ours ( if we had paid full price ) ?Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -

These 2 laptops will probably go for substantially lower than £580 though so still a bargain if someone really wants one!

I think it's first come first served, even if someone were to order loads and loads they still have to go round the country picking them all up!!!0 -

PC World were on the ball with this one. If they spotted the same name and phone number reserving more than one laptop, they refused to sell more than one to that person (CS were watching the collect@store orders as they came in and contacted stores directly if anyone showed up as ordering more than one. I was in Ipswich when they called someone to cancel for this very reason). If someone managed to buy more than one, they were very lucky. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

Right, I've booted using my XP Home CD, deleted the partitions (and did a quick format) and installed a fresh XP, however when I startup my laptop now it asksk me to choose from one of two Windows XP Home Installations?! How can I get rid of one of them? Will I need to reformat?0

Sounds like you didn't delete the partitions, Gibson. You've managed to set up a dual boot. You'll need to do it again, making sure you delete both partitions first. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

I did actually delete both partitions, and then installed Win XP Home onto the only partition available, how strange0

Just gone through the process again, this time not using the quick format option, and all seems well
