Afternoon everyone Lala has asked me to send her love to Floflo today:(
Done all the chores, dinner prepared, whoopsied sausages from Lalas very overstocked freezer.THis is good though because it means I dont have to go shopping with my barbie pink shopping trolley, reason being when I was younger I failed 3 driving tests:( and get my Lala to take me out with her in the car most of the time.
Update on Lala, she had rather a restless night but managed to get her to stay in bed untill lunchtime.her arm is very swollen but after ringing the hospital am reassured this is quite normal.
I think now she has come to terms with just how little she is able to do for a while.:(
Thankyou for all your lovely welcomes as you know Lala has been teaching me the computer but maybe this has given me the push I needed to join you lovely lot on mse :T:T:T:T
  • Hi everyone :)

Sorry, only had a brief check on the last few posts, so hope this hasn't been mentioned already - went to T's this morning, the best I could find with the new price flop coupons were

Muller Corner 6 packs £3.59 each or two for £5, so with the £1 off voucher, that's 12 for £4, which is pretty cheap, especially for the yummy limited edition ones out at the moment

Also, the Chinese Meal Bag for 2 is £3.75, so with £1 off, £2.75 for dinner for 2 :)

According to the mentos facebook page the single packs are stocked in 100% of Asda, Co-op and Morrisons as well as selected other stores.
Might explain why they're hard to find in Tesco.

I feel chuffed that I have spent less than 10 quid so far since Saturday!!!!

Gonna keep up the grocery challenge as it keeps me focused. £130 for the month of April is the set budget.

    :)

That's amazing! :T. What is the grocery challenge? Is it just something you set for yourself?

Mm. Yes please! Got LOADS of broccoli to use up.

Here we go, OH got a bit excited as he thought I was cooking it as had to phone him for which book recipe was in. :D

    Spiced Brown Rice with Broccoli

    Serves 2

    15g butter
1 medium onion, peeled and finely sliced
    175g long-grain brown rice
    450ml vegetable stock
    175g broccoli trimmed
    1 tablespoon olive oil
    50g pine nuts
    freshly ground pepper
    salt
    1/2 teaspoon garam masala

    1. Melt butter and fry onion until golden. Add rice and fry gently for 2-3 mins. Pour in stock and bring to boil, cover, lower heat and simmer gently for 35-40 mins until rice cooked but still slightly chewy and all stock absorbed.

    2. About 15 mins before rice cooked prepare broccoli. Cut heads into thin strips lengthways, heat olive oil in large frying pan and stir fry broccoli for about 10 mins. If you like soft rather than crisp broccoli cover pan for part of time. (Steams it a bit to soften)

    3. When broccoli cooked add pine nuts to pan and stir fry until lightly browned. Stir in cooked rice, adding black pepper and little salt if necessary.

    4. Spoon into serving dish, sprinkle lightly with garam masala and serve immediately.

    Enjoy!!! :)

Hi Nannylala, thanks for the update on Lala. Glad you like it here, hope you will still stay around when Lala gets better.

If anyone is doing a JTD shop do not buy caster sugar, as it is £1.09 in T's but £1.99 in both A's and S's

I have a picture in my mind of frequent permanently walking around with a saucepan on his head with the handle sticking out. Think it's reminding me of an Enid Blyton character in the story of the Magic Faraway Tree "the saucepan man". :rotfl:

my son was reading that book last night it is so good that he can enjoy the books i read as a child
