  • BTW, can someone help me with the Rustlers voucher? The link on their FB page doesn't seem to be working :(
  • Rosie- Thanks for this- I am up every EVERY morning at about 4:30 sneezing my head off. At the moment I am having the neighbour's honey (unfortunately I HATE honey). And she is so good - gives me the bits of the honeycomb with all the disgusting flower bits - and that helps, but still... I hate to succumb to pills, but they stop me wanting to rip my eyes out!

    Thanks thanks thanks!

Laura - I also take the beconase spray thingy.
was a bit sceptical but the doc said I need that in ADDITION to the pills. I also use itchy eyes eye drops.
    Not been too bad yet.
I also get "bounceback" sinus trouble.
I hate living in London - think I would be so much better by the sea.
I say "THANKS" to posts that make me smile - Oh and really good glitches.:j

Arh hun, that's very kind of you to say so :o:o:o:o Alan has said that he is proud of the way I am dealing with things and that it makes it easier for him to deal with, but I am so proud of how he has accepted the cancer is terminal and is just getting on with things. I've said before, it really helps that we can talk about it all, the stoma bag, whether to have the chemo, whether the cancer is feeding on the abcess, etc including what I will do when I am left on my own - yes, we've talked a bit about that too. The only thing we haven't talked about is how it will be for him, and for me, near the end, but that is only because we are dealing with the 'now' at the moment and sorting out treatment, finances, etc - but the time will come, and we will face it .... together :D

Reminds me of me Mam - she used to eat dunked ginger snap sandwiches - that is dunked ginger snaps in bread & butter, not dunked sarnies ;);) and she still loves her dunked biccies now :j

3Dogs, I don't post in this thread but your post bought a tear to my eye, you sound like such a strong couple and I'm so very sorry for all your going through.

    xx
  • Morning everybody. Now I've found this thread I'll try to pop in more often but it moves so fast!!
but still... I hate to succumb to pills, but they stop me wanting to rip my eyes out!

Laura I assume you're suffering from hayfever. I get it in May and June and know what you mean about wanting to rip your eyes out. The only tablets that work for me are piriton but they make me so drowsy - probably because at the height of the season I end up taking about 8 a day!

Try bathing your eyes in optrex or something similar - use eye drops - and just around the lids very sparingly use vaseline - it's supposed to trap the pollen, also in the nostrils. Doesn't stop it altogether but i think it helps. If all else fails would your doctor give you an injection for the season. Very few will use an injection as it's steroid but it certainly works, stops the symptoms in a couple of hours and lasts the whole season.

Have you also heard of the tablet vaccination - think it's called Gravax. Don't know if it's any good but you need to see your doctor early in the year, well before the hay fever season starts. May be useful for next year.

Morning everyone, hope we're all ok. Just off to T's then loads to do, operation on wednesday so am trying to get on top of everything now so as I'm all organised and ready:)Getting stressed already at the thought of no T's for a while though:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:At least I won't have to worry about Mr Lala doing the food shopping, other than a few fresh bits.We could survive for months if not a year;)

Could be good thing then not having to go to T's - but if you get withdrawal give me a shout, I think being lala'd could be fun:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
