My DD has an ipod classic - very retro apparently.
When it is fully charged and she plugs it into a speaker system it suddenly seems to lose all its power. This happened for a few days but she could still use it with a small speaker thing (we have one which looks like a lego brick) and it was also OK with small headphones but now that doesn't work either so it can't be used at all.
She took it into the Apple shop but they said it was such an old model that they couldn't really help so gave her a phone number to call.
Before we do that I thought I would ask you lovely, knowledgeable, helpful people here if you had any ideas.
Many thanks.
PS We bought it refurbished from ebay but it has been fine for about a year.
It sounds like the battery has had it. What's it like using it with ear/headphones?0 -
Good evening 11+ers. I hope you all had a good day. I just got home and tried to catch up with the days news, but my eyes are too tired to read. I'll catch up with you tomorrow instead. Sweet dreams.Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in.0

I understand they refund you £100, however £50 of this has already been refunded.
So I have been given DTD, leave the store, keep the item, Tesco are -item
However, if I was to return the item, Tesco would pay the second half of my refund (£50), put the item back on the shelf for £100, therefore gaining £50 that they would not have gained if I had kept the item ^^ Tesco -item + (-£50 refund + £100 sale) = -item +£50
I guess it is in Tesco own interest that DTD are returned..
Fair points but I'm not convinced that this is true. Have a gut feeling that many of the items that people get big DTD on (better than half price for e.g.) are often fluctuating between list/RR price and offer price (e.g Denby). Many of the example I see on here are for items that are never worth their "list" price and Tesco don't expect to sell many at this price. Most sales are done at true value price where the customer is enticed by an apparent reduction. It's a standard marketing ploy that is used in most retail selling. Human nature being what it is, the marketing people exploit this and the vast majority of people fall for it even though they should probably realise that regular 50% reductions are just part of a very well researched game in understanding "bargain hunters"Awaiting a new sig0 -

Had a bleeding expensive weekend knew i needed new brake pads then found out i needed discs as well, also asked him to look at clutch as i thought something wrong - car juddering seriously when i engaged the clutch can't do a smooth gear change no matter what i do!! turns out i needed a new clutch as well:eek::eek::eek: i had also arranged to get new tyres fitted this weekend before any of this happened - luckily the bloke doing the work is a friend of OH so £400 down and thats without the tyres:eek::eek::eek:, but apparently this is really cheap for my car - citroen czara picasso, as its a pain of a job, not that i know its just what i have been told...

My cousin died this week. She was in her 50's. Yesterday, my stepdaughter's mother-in-law died. She was in her 50's too. It makes you realise that you have to grab every opportunity you have in life but also not let silly squabbles with family/friends become too big so that they become insurmountable. Make sure you take the time to tell the people in your life that you love them and do something nice for them so that they smile. Let's all try to make the best of today. x0

Bensonsmum - there was no knife glitch. It was just a wind up.0

I've had several pms today from totally new posters to the forum asking for details of the knives. Normally I'd be delighted to share, but under the current circumstances when there is somebody going out of their way to stop deals, I'm sure they'll understand we're all a bit more reluctant to share than normal till things settle down a bit. I apologise to all the genuine people, and ask for their understanding on this. Please all hang around, post, and let us all get to know you - there are lots of tips, general good advice on anything under the sun, and plenty of laughs to be had on this thread.
