well done on your win. a good day before with both lots of fans mixing well. my big gripe on the day was paying £9 for fish n chips in the stadium. smallest bit of fish i'd ever had (battered skin really). i took it back 3 yes 3 times as they were cold. not a good image if foreign teams come to our national stadium.

Thanks Zippydooda, we may well have passed each other. Both sets of fans were fantastic and it helped that it was scorching, really wish we were riding high in the league as you are. We all said it was nice to win today but we will both pass each other next season with you getting promoted and us relegated, but thats football I suppose;)

£9 for fish & chips:eek::eek: I went with my DH and DS 1&2 so made some butties, with the cost of the tickets and fuel if I had bought fish & chips for us all I think I would have had to remortgage. :rotfl:

Hi elite have just come back from doing a flash mob with Rock Choir. It was at Junction 32 outlet centre Leeds it was fun pretending to be just a normal shopper then bursting out in song & dance. There were 400 of us taking part at this venue but it was simultaneous with all the other Rock Choir groups across the country. I really enjoyed it. Will be popping out to T's shortly to check out the knives. Enjoy the sun peops! :T:T:):)

The (phone company?) commercial filmed in a railway station which had 'normal' commuters bursting into song and dance used to make me smile as it had a real feel good factor about it, bringing smiles onto the other travellers faces.:)

Went on first bike ride of summer today (don't do London roads )

Mad you have competition - two wombles for me yesterday - £3.32 and £2.98, only picked up four receipts so good outcome. :j

Really feel for you FloFlo. I read at my mum's funeral 3 years ago. I had been fine until I got up and could see everyone looking at me with such kindness and sympathy. I said three words, then stopped, and the sobbing just overcame me. My big sis came and stood next to me, and wrapped her arms around me. I pulled myself together, thought of my mum's smile and giggles, and got on with it. It wasn't easy, and I don't expect it was too clear, but I got through it. When I finished (it was a special poem) I felt soooo proud to have done it for her. So, maybe just think what advice your mum would give you, and what she would like.

It makes me well up just writing this - but you know, there is nothing to be ashamed of. In fact, I feel proud because my tears and emotions are just reflections on what a wonderful mother I was lucky to have.

Such a lovely post and well done for getting through it xxx

Thank you, I have some idea of what I want to say but haven't written it out yet.

I haven't written the card to with the flowers yet either - not sure what would be suitable, first time doing this for family.:(

The thing to remember is that there is no right or wrong, say what you want to and write what you want to, I didn't speak at my mum's funeral and and I don't remember what I wrote on the card, but I wrote her a long long letter which I tied with a cream chiffon scarf and asked the funeral director to tie it to her wrist.

I have been to a 'good' funeral though, one where the church was filled with sadness and tears, some people sobbing loudly, then the wake was laughter and stories, it was a perfect send off, so whatever happens, if you cry, just let it go xxxx

FWITS worth, my brother had a fast food place here had to pay over £6k for the privilage even if it rained. £6k was per event.

OMG:eek:, My DS1 did say when we passed them I wonder how much rent the vendors had to pay. Overheads cripple the retailer, I know we run our own business

Great to see people who remember 'the old days' with taxiphil, postman, dude, leadhead, the lurch and too many others to name. I was here then, under a different username ;).
For the newbies, below is a link to one of the old threads, funnily enough with redfox as the mod.
