Morning boys and girls, another beautiful morning here, hope you are all well. 3Dogs so pleased to hear that Mr 3Dogs is doing so well.. My FIL is still plodding along, and as strange as this may sound looks absolutely great, he is eating nonstop and hasn't looked as healthy as he does now, in years. I know he is non weight bearing but apart from that you would never know he is ill. OH keeps saying to me are you sure that that haven't made a mistake!! He still doesn't want to accept that his Dad will be gone soon and finds it really hard to talk about his imminent death. He is now in a nursing home less than five minutes walk away and every time the dog gets taken for a walk its round there to see him and they all go around the park together with OH pushing FIL in his wheel chair and the dog running riot between the wheels.
They do the pub saturday and sunday lunch time, Dinner at ours twice a week and then round with him at every opportunity he gets, OH is going to be so lost when he goes. Going to be good this coming weekend as OH is going to Newcastle on a stag weekend and i get to take him to the pub, only problem is i have a knackered arm and can't lift, push, or pull at a distance its alright up close to my body but not away from it, so i can see me pushing him one armed round in circles - so will be interesting.

Hope you all have a great day and catch you all later :):)

Just looked at my Emails and have one from "Apple" to say my New nano is on its way:j:j:j

I picked one up at a carboot sale for £4 "Nano 1st Generation" and sent it off to Apple after reading on MSE about their replacement scheme and will soon have in my sticky mitts a brand new 6th Generation model that sell for over a £100 all for a £4 spend -
    thanks MSE:T:T:T:T:T

    Welcome Lanust

We've had a quiet day here in 3Dogsland - actually had a lie-in till about 10 am after getting up to let pup have a wee at 7 am ;) Wasn't going to go out at all but Alan fancied fish & chips again, wanted to try some lucazade for another 'flavour' and he'd also been advised to try some Mackeson to build him up so asked me to get him some of that. So I drove into town to Asda and got a few bits of shopping including whoopsied danish pastries and breakfast croissant pack :D then walked round corner to the fish shop. Really chilly after a lovely day when I got back, so I got my washing in off the line and got the house warmed up before waking him up, and dishing up tea, which was lovely and Alan had a small can of Mackies before going to bed at 7.30pm

Mr 3Dogs has definitely got his appetite back though can still only eat smaller portions he had 2/3 and I had 1/3 of one portion of fish & chips and he is feeling tons better. The new stoma bag is much better, being moulded more to his body, and we've not had any leaks since using it which is making him feel more secure with it

His elder son and wife are coming to visit him tomorrow and we are both looking forward to that :D

Many thanks to MyMerryWidow for the parcel which arrived today - very kind and generous of you hun :A

I know everyone has said that I am being so strong about Mr 3Dogs' cancer but I think that the reason we are both dealing with this so well is that I talk about it with him, not push it under the carpet. We have been married for almost 31 years and understand each other well, though this has not always been the case  We are learning more about his condition as we go, and will deal with it as it comes

I have to share with you that Mr 3Dogs joked to me today when I was on about stocking up on something or other for him saying "well don't get too many or I won't get to use them all" and then later when we couldn't find a screwdriver to refill my ecoballs laundry balls I got my own back by saying "you see, this is the sort of thing you'll have to do, put a tool kit together for me and explain how they work". We both said we have to deal with it like this otherwise we'd both go mad :p

I have caught up and meant to make some comments but my mind is gone now and I will be off to bed very soon so I'll just say goodnight to all you lovely people :D

am glad Mr3dogs seems to be feeling a bir chirpier in himself...it certainly makes it that tiniest bit easier for you to manage :)

As for the comments on the pair of you dealing with the future, it brought back memories of my FIL who died of liver cancer Dec 2011....in the October the MIL was buying him some new comfy shoes.... he replied 'dont go spending much money, I'm hardly going to get the wear out of them am I'......it really upset me to start with, then I saw this was their way of dealing with it .... :)

You are both being so positive and strong minded about this, and I think that makes a lot of difference to recovery and the quality of life Mr3dogs has.

Sending you lots of love and best wishes :)
hoping for a very MSE Ts glitching 2012!
