I didn't much fancy going out today as it was lashing it down with rain and thunder, but I had a stack of things which had sold on eBay overnight so I wanted to get them in the post - the nearest small town to me has four cs and in the Blue Cross one I just got a (current model) Sodastream complete with full gas bottle and four drinks bottles for £2.50, and half a dozen uncut sewing patterns (Simplicity, McCalls, Vogue) for just 25p each.

I've come home from a local Red Cross outlet store with the best trousers I've ever had. M%S Autograph and they are lined. I've never had lined trousers and they are comfortable and well fitting. All for £1.99

Today's finds in the community shop:-

Jaegar, white lacy top, sleeveless, scoopy neck, side zip and lined - very pretty £2 :)

I went proper shopping with a friend a couple of weeks ago looking for bedroom curtains. Said friend was mortified at the prices....over £100+ cos they are huge windows. Asked me to look out for any in the chazzas and bingo!....today I found a pair made by Curtina, (think they may be from Debenhams). As new, lined with no sun fading at the edges but badly taken up. At least they hadn't cut the fabric off so could be let down or re-done if needs be. Cream background with a repeated stripe of impressionistic flowers in rust and green. £7.50. The weight of them was horrendous...nearly killed me getting home on the bus but needs must! Just hope the friend approves......:p
  • I know many of us use the charity shops these dadys and occasionally come across a little gem. I'm not usually that lucky however today I found a Radley handbag in immaculate condition for £8.50. I just cannot believe it and can't stop griunning as I've always wanted one and just couldn't justify the price of a new one at the moment.

babyishcare - fab bargain there, :T

Miro - hope your friend likes the curtains.

Yesterday's trip to the Air Ambulance £1 clearance shop yielded:
a George dress in a black and silver lacy pattern.
Sweetheart neckline and quite fitted into the waist with 4 Princess seam darts at the front and 4 at the back which stop at hip level. Not my usual style but very nice.

A Olsen dress in navy heavyweight jersey with 3/4 sleeves and navy & white horizontal strip yoke front & back and a feature back zip with a white border and a flash of red at the neck. Very nautical. Knee length and will be great with navy opaques and ankle boots.

Looking on the Olsen website the dress could have cost anything between £100 & £140.

If anybody that shops in Ormskirk needs a posh outfit for eg. a wedding, (maybe mother of the bride) cruise or the races, the Salvation Army has some beautiful dresses with short sleeved jackets. They cost £29.99 but the assistant told me they'd been on sale in a shop in a different town for about £600! She knows the lady and shop that donated them.

The dresses are mostly sized 16, 18 and 20 and various colours.

They really are gorgeous but sadly I haven't got an occasion I could wear one.

That's a good shout for anyone on the lookout for a posh frock. :)

Had another good bargain at the air Ambulance shop yesterday:
A St George by Duffer (odd name, imho) short sleeved shirt in red & white different width stripes.
Checked the collar and it looks lightly worn if at all. Care label is unfaded.
    Very fresh-looking. £1 - retail in Debenhams at £32.

Age UK from the sale rail:
Monsoon navy cardigan with elbow length sleeves 99p

    Lighthouse:
Hobbs 100% linen casual unlined jacket with a Mandarin collar in a light brown, moleskin colour. Nice half belt detail to the back and the sleeve length is perfect for me (probably designed to be 3/4).
Will be good with a maxi dress instead of a cardigan.
£4.00 but would have probably cost at least £100 new from Hobbs.

I was in there a few days ago and the assistant was explaining the very same thing to a customer (presumably not you as I imagine your visit was more recent?). I must tell my sister, my niece is getting married in December 2018. The dresses were a bit too fancy for my "auntie of the bride" style!
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D
