I was in there a few days ago and the assistant was explaining the very same thing to a customer (presumably not you as I imagine your visit was more recent?). I must tell my sister, my niece is getting married in December 2018. The dresses were a bit too fancy for my "auntie of the bride" style!

I saw the dresses yesterday. They are gorgeous. I'm more a trouser type of person, though. And if I go anywhere (slightly) dressed up, I can't wait to change back into my scruff when I get home!

    Hello,

Just back from Oxfam with a pair of Jones the Bootmaker shoes. Still had the £50 sticker on the sole.......£5.99. Hope I don't have to return them, as they are just my style, but they are a bit tight!

Also got a long dress with cold shoulder sleeves in a paisley print. F&F for £4, but much better than the £40 for a similar one I was looking at in Joe Browns.

That with the £5 Mango top I got earlier in the week makes me very happy!:)

Soooooo...... Tuesday's tripette to Otley found me nothing in the 99p shop. But, the Age Concern chazza was selling everything off at £1 and I got a Next maxi sundress. Not too sure about it as it is a little revealing in the boob department.:p Am giving it a wash and then will decide. Today, for once, I found just exactly what I was looking for!! That is, a rose pink, cropped 3/4 sleeve cardi to wear over a sleeveless summer dress as it's so flipping' cold and I wanna wear me new frock!! Twas in the Debra shop where everything is £1.99. So pleased. Sauntering on to the community shop and I spotted a pair of black, beige & white patterned cropped pants...(made by 'Loft'?). I had seen them earlier in the week priced at £3 but I decided to leave them in case they ended up on the £1 rail. I had a little talk with myself and decided that £3 was very little for a pair of as new, nice quality summer troosers, so I recklessly(!) purchased them.

    A good week! :j
  • Back from a few days in Southport. Lots of charity shops along Lord Street:
Cancer Research: Fat Face lovely fine cotton top £3.50
Age Concern: M&S cropped trousers, hardly worn £4.00
Hospice Shop in Bold Street: 3 books for £1.

Not massive bargains, but all things that will be worn/read by me, so happy with that.
    Normal people worry me.

Oh, well done!! Yes Ann Taylor from the US of A...GBP price for similar £71.99  Ha, that also explains why I was able to get into two sizes smaller with room to spare cos of the American sizing :p. Not sure if the T shirt idea will work as the top of the dress is boned and padded and has shoestring straps....will give it a go tho and thanks for the idea. If all else fails it will get 'transformed' into a skirt!

I realise it will depend on the style round the boobs but could a piece of lace or something be sewn in? I did this once with a dress for a wedding. It was a lovely dress but just a little too shaped between the boobages. I got a small piece of lace and sewed it in place. Still kept the shape of the dress and the effect but without revealing QUITE so much!
