    I'm in 7th heaven today

Popped into Oxfam and got the national trusts complete traditional recipe book for £2

I have more cookbooks in my collection than I will ever need and currently have banned myself from buying more. This however this is one I covert and would buy if only I found it in a charity shop.

Just to rub it in, it's in mint condition :rotfl:

Im lusting over recipes like Rosemary soup :)

The Irish stew recipe is a tad suspect, and I'm sure a lot more are, but then that's the joy of these old recipes, who's to say who's right after they have moved on down through folklore and availability

Can't see me finding sheep caul for the faggots either ;)

My little tripette out to Otley this afty found me in the 99p St Gemmas chazza (of course!). Found a brand new, unworn pair of taupe, faux textured suede court shoes by Fiore which I believe is a Matalan brand? Dead plain so who will ever know who the maker is? Fit perfectly and will go with so many things. I even have the perfect bag to match. So thrilled, can't believe I only paid... er um... 99p for them :p

I checked out the Oxfam shop in Otley too as they have had the new Ted Baker stuff in the past but nothing new spotted....just the black & blue tweed cape/coat for £49 that has been there for ages.

A Michael Connolly book for £1 in Sue Ryder - nothing else caught my fancy.
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

    One of my favourite authors.
I love Harry Bosch and Mickey Haller equally. :)

Got a fabulous bag today, brand new, very colourful for £3.49. I didn't need a new bag (and it's brand new) but it's soooo pretty.

A couple more summer dresses for my Seychelles friend at 99p a pop.

My grandson and I have been trawling the charity shops looking for men for his castle; we found a massive bag of little soldiers for £1.99, must have been about 70 in there. He always says when we go into charity shops that "grandma and me are looking for men!"

Shirley Conran was wrong when she said life is too short to stuff a tomato :D
I think it was mushroom, and it was back in the days when portobellos weren't readily available.

I went through my little niece's wardrobe the other day as I'd been given some storage for her, and was amazed how much she had. All bought for by me :o. So I realised that has got to stop for at least the next two-three years. They don't actually need that much stuff if wearing a uniform 5 days a week.

Yesterday I bought some more books including one that was on my wish list (a rare find) and four for my niece, including this, in mint condition:

Yesterday she picked up a bookmark and was reading all the letters on it correctly, so it's time to get her doing some phonics and then reading. After all, it is she who will inherit my vast library :D

Also a set of coffee stencils for £1.50 (RRP $9.36 or $4.80 a piece if t'internet is to be believed):

Hope is not a strategy :D...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!

No doubt Shirley Conran would have said that life was too short to stencil a coffee too!!!:D

I went walking in South Essex this morning, armed with a tape measure and on the lookout for a bookcase. Chazzers were my first port of call, but I didn't find anything suitable. Somehow, I came away with another 16 books for ££4.50. It's a total addiction.

I could cut back if what I was selecting was trivial fiction - but most of my purchases are informational or acclaimed fiction. I now think I have a serious problem :o
