If they're good quality and condition they're worth getting altered. The difficulty I have is longer legs than average, and there's only so much trousers can be lengthened.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -

He also has just 4 pairs of shoes: smart work ones, a casual pair, rarely used sandals for holiday / summer, and trainers. He doesn't even keep a spare pair of trainers, even though he runs 10k 6 days a week.
I run about the same amount, and only have one pair. What would I use a spare pair for? Or am I being fick?0 -

I've got 2 spare pairs which is just as well as my trainers have developed a big hole in the sole. One is light brown, neutral enough to go with anything that I'll use for everyday exercise. The other is a very fetching pink, which I'll team up with workwear if I know I'm going to end up doing a lot of walking during the day.

I was always told that you should "rest" your shoes for 24 hours between wearings. Helps them stay fresh I suppose, and keep in shape.
Fab find today - two pairs of black Rohan walking trousers, look like new, £6.99 each. Found the same ones online for £69! They are so lightweight, ideal for packing as a spare pair for travelling. :TI haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

In Skipton this week I spotted a pair of black Ecco laced shoes. Brand new, my size (3.5) and so comfy. They will be well used this coming winter (Sorry to mention the W word whilst it's still June!) £4.50 and a quick look on-line shows they would have been upwards of £80."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. Good luck with the Ecco shoes....I bought a pair, brand new, for about £8 from a charity shop a few years ago and the soles completely disintegrated and fell to bits after a couple of wears, (quite a common thing with this brand along with Hotter & Clarks it seems from the online reports. There is even a thread on MSE about it.) As I couldn't provide the original sales receipt Ecco just did not want to know. I do hope you are more fortunate with your bargain buy
Anyhoo, three nice little finds today:-
A b/n, knee length M & S pencil skirt in a black/grey and cream diamond/geometric pattern. £3.75 from the community shop. As soon as I saw it I could imagine it in autum/winter with a cream jumper and black suede boots that I already have. :j
Also in the same shop I found two smelly Pecksniff candles, b/n for 50p each....I love these and they are normally about £5.99 on the reduced/bashed about shelf in TkMaxx. :j0 -
MIRO a similar happened with a pair of Clarks Mr TA had stored in the wardrobe for a considerable time. (He got them supplied at work and stocked up before he retired, hence the time span in the wardrobe!) He went out in a pair and the soles just parted company from the shoes!! I thought it was hilarious that he had to return home in just the uppers but he wasn't amused!!
I hope the same doesn't happen to me with my Ecco's!!
Lucky you with the Pecksniff candles. I look out for those in particular on the clearance shelf when in TKMaxx!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0
