I wish someone would save me from myself and lock me and my bank cards in a dark room for a few weeks!
I decided, re the 2 x Ted Baker coats, to wait until my next visit in a week's time and if either item is still there then it was meant to be and I will splurge on one of the coats, (not both!!).
Sooooo....today I was out for a little walkette and passed my local Mind shop. Well, it would be rude not to pop in wouldn't it? A whole collection of pawsh shoes were displayed - L K Bennett, Kurt Geiger, Hobbs etc. My eyes fell on a pair of unworn Kurt Geiger, electric blue, satin, high heels with jewelled bows on the front. I was pretty sure that they were exactly the same colour as a Ted Baker cocktail dress with a similarly jewelled neckline that I got earlier in the year so I tried 'em on....fitted OK and were as comfy as 4" heels can be!! They were priced at a, to me, eye-watering £25 though, (since found em selling at £100 at John Lewis). Could I resist....NOOOOO! I do have a very pawsh dinner to go to in September so my bargain outfit costing me £37, (dress was £12 and £275 on Ted Baker website), would have cost, in total, £375 in proper shops. My bargains will make the occasion all the sweeter!!0 -
Well done Miro - very rarely get any high standard stuff in my area - just as well as I'd need my purse confiscated!!
Went in to my local cancer charity shop & got a brand new navy gap t-shirt for 2.99 - ticket was 9.99. I also got a lovely striped cotton sweater that also looks new for 3.99 it's lovely quality and stylish so well pleased as it will go with quite a few things in my wardrobe.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Yesterday in Oxfam I spotted a pretty pale blue and white blouse on a size 10 hanger. Now as I am happiest in a 14-16 on top I don't know why I even picked it up, but when I looked at it, even though the label said 10 it looked like it might just fit, so I tried it on. So pleased that it fitted, and also was M&S cotton and silk mix, so light as a feather and perfect for travelling.
However I noticed a small tear in the back, only about an inch, which I pointed out to the manageress, who said i could have it for £1 or she would throw it in the rag bag  .
By amazing coincidence a few days ago I had bought a pack of 12 pastel coloured reels of thread reduced to 75p, and one of them was the perfect match :T . Mended it and hand washed it last night and it is now my new favourite top!
The day before I was in a YMCA "everything 99p" shop and found a feather and down filled grey quilted jacket. It's a mans small but fitted me fine, the only difference seems to be there's no shaping at the waist. Found the brand online (Weatherproof 32*) and they retail for about £50-£70!I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

My Age Concern CS with the £1 attic section has closed down. Gutted, it was my fav place to pick up items for DD's costumes. Her next production is in Les Mis, where, so far she's 6 different characters! So it was to the Sue Ryder shop where most clothing is £2 an item I went and picked up a waistcoat for DD for when she's playing a student. I picked up a skirt in there last week also for £2 for her to be a beggar and factory worker. I've given myself a budget of £30 and going to see how near I can get to keeping to it.0

I had half an hour to spare in town, so I wandered into a couple of charity shops and exited one of them with a lovely stainless steel mug tree for the princely sum of £1.50. It is an excellent match for my canister set I bought awhile back.Do not make any sudden moves.0

Today I bought a crepe pan from the Blue Cross shop for just 50p. I have managed perfectly well making pancakes in an ordinary frying pan my whole life, and I couldn't justify the price of a special pan just for crepes, but for 50p I thought I'd go mad and treat myself
. I expect there'll be lots of pancake-based suppers in the coming days.
