Pleased with my latest bargain for £5.00 from hospice shop.
Mantaray maxi dress, looks unworn and the fabric certainly feels like it hasn't been washed, still has that stiffness.

Needs shortening but that's no big deal.

Just have to share my latest bargains!

Hubby and I are currently on holiday in Spain. We went out for a walk this morning and unexpectedly came across a charity shop.
Came out with 2 pairs of mens denim jeans and a pair of smartish Jeff banks shorts, ladies t-shirt and a bag. All for the sum of 5 Euros--(about £3.80)!!!!!!!

    :j :T
  • I've not been able to drive for a few months (torn ligaments - a pain in all senses!) but am now able to get about a bit. At my local CS this afternoon I picked up an embroidery organiser box, which would have been good enough value at £2 - but it also had 50+ skeins of embroidery thread, needles and scissors in it! That's especially good as during the enforced sitting about I've started to embroider for the first time in years, and the colours are mostly great for the next big project, a copy of an 18th century sampler (the linen to embroider on also came from the same charity shop...)

Yesterday I was meeting a friend, not on my usual patch. I was early so popped into the nearest charity shop.
I bought a lovely green bowl in "milk glass" for £1.50
A new pair of London Rebel black patent loafers for £4 and best of all...
FOUR skirt lengths of vintage tweed fabric £5!
I'm currently making one up,for eldest though it won't b worn till Autumn. I just love sewing with natural fabrics.

    WOW
    Is it really 'proper' vintage?
I remember 40 years ago buying & making up fab herringbone fabric.

Yes! It really is. It had old labels on tied with string.
Slightly scratchy and needs lined but that's the nature of the beast.
