Pace yourself! It's amazing how fast children grow so give some thought to the size vs time of the year. Clothes for a small baby get worn out quickly as they are run through the washing machine so often - and again when they start to crawl, you'll find knees and heels might not last long so buy quality. All perfectly viable from the chaz :)

Hope is not a strategy :D...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!

Yes been buying today for DsS, he's nine and a half but he's already needing age 12-13 clothes as he's broad like DH and already bordering shoulder height on me and I'm 5'8!

I've had to send some of the age 11 stuff he was bought at Xmas out to CS as it's already too small and he's not even worn several bits of it :(

Haven't had a real bargain in ages but broke the dry spell today. Got three brand new pairs of chinos for OH at £3 each and a beautiful minitaure travel alarm from M & S in its own leather travel case brand new in the box for £1.99. I've one friend who doesn't mind exchanging CS birthday gifts (as long as they're new) and she'll love this for her holidays. All in all, a good day ...
    Looking ahead

    Back again :)

I picked up a green Boden midi dress for £5.25 from CRUK. It's green covered in lots of white clouds and fits like a glove!

Also picked up a JoJo Maman Bebe green floral wool cardigan for my DD £1.49 and a lovely Next t-shirt for £1. In sizes 1.5-2 years, my DD is only 10 weeks but I might aswell stock up when I see things.

Nothing too exciting, popped to my favourite £1 charity shop today. I got a slightly cropped yellow jumper from H&M :)

So yesterday's haul for DsS included an M&S suit (we go to several formal events with my in-laws every year and we have one next week), £8.25 for jacket & trousers. Another formal but bright pink shirt (still had the plastic cufflinks and packaging folds creased into it!) for £4.00, all from North London Hospice.

Then a pair of hardly worn size 4 Jimmy Bee formal shoes (he's gonna get bigger any minute and we've another formal event in May) for £6.99 in BHF, the adult versions are £40-£80 on Amazon.

I got myself two dresses and a long top of which, one was proper maternity dress from Dorothy Perkins, £4.99, the others just the right sort of style and size. All again BHF.

Excellent day yesterday. We have a small independent charity shop for profoundly disabled children and adults in our town. I have named it before on this thread but won't now, because I hadn't realised it is unique until recently.

Anyway, my first spot was a very pale pink going on neutral pure silk quilted gilet, label Patra. Excellent condition, and even better after a gentle hand wash. Cost me £1, online price £64.95. The outer shell and lining are silk, the filling is polyester, so it is light as a feather and perfect for bunging in a *bag in case the weather turns chilly.

*Then I found for 10p a small nylon drawstring bag, which the rolled up gilet fits into perfectly :T . It in turn will pop into a shopping bag or even a decent size handbag.

I made the 10p up to 50p with a few other little oddments off the 10p shelf, plus a rather nice square microwaveable picnic plate for 50p.

Left the shop, looked back at the window and spotted a rather elegantly shaped vase, bulbous body with a narrowed neck that then widens out again. Priced £1. Needed a bit of a clean up, and there were slight crazed cracks on the underside so I took a chance it didn't leak - it doesn't so it must be just the glaze that is cracked.

It is stamped Mason's china, and made in England. I can't find the exact one online (it is a plain ivory colour with a gold rim round the top), but multi-coloured Mason's vases are online for around £35-£45. It looks a million dollars with a bunch of daffs in :T . That's the second vase I've bought for daffs that has turned out to be worth a fair amount - I could get into this :) . Pity I fall in love with them and wouldn't dream of selling them on!
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

I'm exceptionally pleased with today's bargain. I bought 2 of these cushions. Brand new with tag for £1 each. They are lovely but I wouldn't of dreamt of paying £30 a cushion for them. They will be going on my bed to add a touch of hotel chic lol

I snagged two skirts, three pairs of shoes (one Robert Clergerie), two CDs, vintage candles (sadly heavily used - I haven't tried them yet), three art books, and a nightie on my last charity shopping trip. :)
    Broke.
Current goal: Back in four figures by May.

Wow, that's brilliant. They are lovely. :T

I went to the Hospice clearance shop today, where they sell everything that hasn't sold in the main shop for £1. Got some Clark's Springers sandals, a navy blue hooded gilet and a Craghoppers jumper-type top, £3 total :D . I don't usually get on with sandals as they always rub, but as these have been worn in a bit they seemed fine on a couple of laps of the shop :) . That's summer sorted :D .
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D
