I don't find that surprising, as most people generally socialise in the same circle, and wouldn't want to be seen wearing the same dress more than once.

I have bought c/shop posh frocks, worn them once, washed and re-donated.

Oops. I dont mind wearing the same dress 20 times over and I have done.

However I live in the back of beyond where the local highlight is spoons and I generally travel a bit further to nights out

Today I got a pair of primark jeans 99p, a pair of monsoon jeans, really nice colour, like a deep blue/aqua colour, 99p and 4 books, 2 Collins French dictionaries and a spanish dictionary for my mum, she speaks and teaches languages and a copy of think yourself thin plus dvd by Paul Mckenna, I'll resist reading it with a cake in hand.

The monsoon jeans fit perfectly, really pleased with them.

2 camisole type tops, one a tan fine wool look by Joseph and the other a denim colour cotton by Jigsaw. £3 each from the Cancer CS. I do believe they're getting more sensible with their prices.:j

Fancied a Lipsy smock top but the asymmetric hem looked as if it had been hacked with scissors.

I bought my mum a beautiful monsoon dress with matching wrap for £8 from a Marie Curie charity shop a few years ago. It's amazing how many people donate barely worn evening wear to the CS!

I would be much more likely to donate a dress or something that I had only worn once or twice than something like a pair of jeans that I would probably wear to death.

I personally would only wear a posh dress to one or two occasions then either donate it or ebay it. That's one of the reasons I love buying dresses in CS as I know I won't wear them often.

A few years ago I went from a job which required professional business dress everyday, to a job that was far more casual. I donated most of my suits and blouses as there was no point keeping them when they wouldn't get worn anymore.

Visited a few today and picked up a vintage wicker shopping basket £6.30 beautiful hand knitted cable jumper for dgs no.3 £2, as new Frustration game £1, berghaus lightweight fleece for dd £1 and a posh fitted M&S jacket for me, red with black buttons, expensive at £8 but I would have regretted leaving it behind. Saw a beautiful Aquascutum (sp?) dog tooth checked jacket for just a £1 yesterday sadly not my size but a great bargain.
    Slightly bitter
  • Got a looks like new Boden top for £3 in Marie Curie. Some of their prices for the "better" brands like M & S and Next were for a fiver plus but obviously whoever marks them up doesnt know Boden is a decent make.
I have every possession I want. I have a lot of friends who have a lot more possessions. But in some cases I feel the possessions possess them, rather than the other way round
