visits to parents

We're lucky in that my parents, and OH's parents and step-mum all live within about 10 miles of us.
I see my parents about once a week on average. Sometimes we're really busy and it will be a couple of weeks between visits, but then other times it's more - I've spent most of this weekend with them.
We see OH's mum every couple of weeks, and his dad and step-mum every couple of months. OH didn't see his dad for over 20 years so this is still a kind of new relationship.
I email or text my dad most days just to say hello. I also drive past my parent's house on the way to work and always wave lol.0 -
My parents live about 20 miles away. We see them most weeks, at least once.
DH's parents live overseas, we see them every 1-4 years. It doesn't feel that way though as we e-mail, Facebook, talk on the phone and Skype several times a week.0 -
I live a couple of hours away. I always visited for a couple of weekends per month and a couple of phonecalls a week.
My Dad died last month so I'm still going back to visit a couple of times a month but now I speak to Mom every day.0 -
I see my parents a couple of times a week, just briefly. They live about 10 miles away.
My inlaws we only see if we go to them. They're about 250 miles away, and despite both being well, retired (at 60), mobile and reasonably well off they never come to us. They get pretty regular invitations.
Even when our son was born they only came for the day (and not once since).Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.

I see mine every few days - live locally, and sometimes just stop in on my way home from work and get a bite of dinner.
I generally tend to stay with them a night in the week as well.
Every weekend that the fiance is visitng, we generally tend to spend a few hours with them.
My only brother lives in England and rarely visits, so I feel as if I have to, especailly special occassions, birthdays, mothers day, father's day etc.
Sometimes I feel as if all the responsibilty is on me, and even the brother just expects me to do it. I have a very strained relationship with him, we don't fall out, just don't really tend to chat much etc.
My parents do so much for me, and i really appreciate it, and love spending time with them, although sometimes the expectations can just seem too much. They don't put any pressure on me, but I feel as if I should see them on the special occassions even if they tell me it doesn't matter.
My Fiance lives over 100mile away, so it makes it difficult to make the long distance relationship work and see the parents as much as I feel i should and want too.
This weekend, as it was mothers day, I should really have spent it with mum but didn't - as I hadn't been to my fiance's hometime in weeks, and he has been to see me every weekend as it was my mum's birthday, then my dad's birthday, then a family funeral last weekend - so I couldn't expect him to come and see me again.
I did spend last night in my parents house but didn't actually get home to around midnight, so just gave mum her card and present and talked for a few minutes - I just don't feel it was enough, but it was all I could manage.
Does anyone ever got weighed down by guilt over not seeing people enough?Weight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.0 -
About once or twice a year. My mother lives about 2.5hrs away but my poisonous step father has very successfully driven a wedge between us.
My dad lives about 8 hours away and we've seen him and my Stepmother 3 times in the past 5 years.
My hubby's parents, on the other hand, are wonderful loving people who we visit about once a month and I talk to my MIL every week
