  • Liverpool city centre one has lots of accessories - Xploder cheat systems for xbox and PS2, GBA games cases/headphones and some other bits. DS cases and accessories. Madcatz PS DVD remotes (by the look of them, unboxed and shrinkwrapped). Nothing in the way of games or controllers from what I could see.

  • I think it's fair enough that staff get first dibs on bargains like this. I used to work for the Dixons Group and must say that it is generally regarded as a 'perk' of the job.

Staff only get 10% discount on goods so I don't have a problem with them making the most of any opportnities they get.

Just been to the one in Bristol. Got the Xploder cheat thing, extension cable for ps2 controller and two other games for 97p each...met a really friendly staff who got the whole list of clearance items out for me cus he had not finished marking all of them down yet!! also helped me look for all of the games even after finishing his shift! although most of the games showed as being in stock (1-4 nos) could not find any of them (He did mention about seeing some staff with bags of games and wondering what it was all about!!)

Hardly any accesories for playstation. Loads for xbox, gameboy and psp especially loads of xbox steering wheels for 47p!! if only I had an xbox or a psp!!

They also had the ps2s for 50 quid and all the items being reduced were being put into bins marked clearance

Currys in Hemel had some handheld bits and pieces at 49 p - about the only things for the PS2 were some TV modulators that could be of use to someone. The Dixons in town (whatever its been rebranded as) seemed to have absolutely nothing.
Wins so far this year: It's been a quiet year so far :)

High St. store has game boy bits, and a couple of xbox changeable fronts, nothing else. Had games advertised as reduced but were still £10-£15.....

Alphington Road Retail Park had a lot more. Got a PS2 remote (47p) a controller extending cable (47p) and a set of headphones (47p).

No signs of any seriously reduced games here either, a few by the till but still marked at £7-£10. Does anyone think that maybe they haven't got around to reducing these yet or is it simply more likely all the cheap ones have already gone?

I have to agree with the comments above, I don't think it's fair that staff can just snap up all the best bits before customers even get a look in. We pay their wages, without us they wouldn't have jobs. It would be nice for the people who do usually pay so much for items from these stores to at least have a chance of getting a good bargain now and again.

    Good luck all! :D

Got a couple of PS2 games (Getaway Black Monday and 007 Agent under Fire) plus an Xbox Steering wheel/pedals and a PSP charger kit for 47p-97p each.

Rockbackoutstar, When I went in the guy had a sheet with loads of 47p stickers on it and was putting it on the stuff that were reduced. This meant that it would ring through the till at 47p. I asked him to check some acc but they had not been reduced. There was another bin next to the clearance one with games for less than a tenner which he tried scanning as well but they were not reduced further...I guess those were the games you saw.
