  • Thanks Busy mom I could have turned that position down at the job centre due to the above reasons but I thought I really could walk it and said goodbye to the job centre but now I have to do it all again. Im doing a paper round just now just incase I do not get any jsa this time but will definately declare it to them. This will keep me getting up at 5 am 7 days a week. Lets hope everyone gets a chance to go forward

Its not about not being nice, people can be nice but still explain the expectaions the government expect from benefit claimants, be that ESA or JSA. JCP are seen as the bad guy as we have to re-enforce that message. There is opportunities for part time work so be honest and unfront about your expectations. Good Luck.

Not always and that seems to be part of the problem, some areas have some jobs but even then the ratio of jobs available to people waning work is low.

I just moved from a seaside town where in the holiday season the local caravan parks advertise jobs (at minimum wage as they know people are desperate) but you need to ring pretty much every day from start of Feb to check if they are available, outside of that you only get work available when a new shop opens and you get about 1 new shop every 2 years and during that time other shops close down!

My aunt and cousin etc are the generic "jobs are easy to find, people on benefits are just lazy" because they live in a easy route to London and have loads of local factories and 4 out of the 5 towns I lived had next to no work, the 1 that did was call centres and offices

The worst was when in my home town there was zero full time work zero part time work and about 5 zero hour jobs and others were "self employed, need own car" jobs and a local employer that had been happy to hire locals since it opened in around 1972 suddenly stopped employing British people and hired almost all Polish staff from 20 miles away! It was even a different region of the country and the bosses had to go on courses to learn Polish as they were hiring Polish staff, its sick when locals cannot find work and they intentionally pick foreign workers and have a free works bus from a different town.
  • The Jobcentre is a business/corporation and like with any business, they have to meet targets at the end of the month/year. So it is absolutely correct that the jobcentre will try it's best to sanction you and even close a claim down to meet their targets. Schools have targets and even police stations do aswell. It's time people realize this.

In my experience with the Jcp I was told I was sanctioned due to not applying for a job in my area. I was never aware of any such jobs and did exactly what was asked of me with my CONTRACT with the Job center, yet it seems the jobcenter adviser can look on the job sites and find jobs that you didn't apply for and stop your benefits because of this.

Do not listen to any Jobcenter employee on this forum because there all trained to follow a script, just like call centers. Again, it all comes back to Business! Money is owed and like with everything in this horrible country, The public have to pay for it.

you should have appealed. you cant be expected to apply for every single job in existence that you could do, they would have to prove you saw the job also, you cant apply for what you dont know about. you must do what is reasonable and more importantly fulfill what you legally agreed to on your agreement.
what we have is advisers taking liberties and interpreting the rule that says you must be willing to do any job you can do as you must apply for any job that exists that you can do.

The Job centre is not a business entity ran on corporation profits or with shareholders or any other similar nonsense. It is part of the public sector -a government service!

The DWP and politicians are at pains to say that the job centre is not run on targets, and do not require its staff to sanction a particular number of claimants (critics of the DPW and JCs say there are secret targets but that's in dispute).

You are wrong on both counts.

The so called Government is selling off all our public sectors to pay the banks! Royal mail, Police, soon it will be NHS and before you know it while your twiddling your thumbs, you'll be run by corporations and Banks thank's to our so called Government. Makes you wonder why Gordon Brown gave all our gold away to bail out a US bank huh? Wake up people.!

He did not give it away, he sold it as he (rightly) thought that he should not hold an asset that paid no dividend or coupon.

He's been criticised for announcing it in advance, and then for his terrible timing, but he idea of selling it at all was not a bad one.

What do you mean, by the way, when you say that he is selling off the police?

So let me get this straight, He sold all of our nations Gold for some paper IOU's which only went to pay off other banks and corporations, (none of it went into public sectors) and when that happens, we all go into recession! And guess who pays the bill now? The public. Its a vicious circle and we the tax paying public suffer and pay the consequences.

Lets just say you didn't pay your tv license yeah, How is it that the BBC can summons up police OFFICERS to your home with them and try to force an Act onto you to pay for something you never asked for which would be a contract. So your being forced by the police and the bbc to enter into a contract lol. it's the same with speeding tickets/parking fines. All that money goes to the banks or corporations, not the public, and this is why they sell off our public sectors, because they can't afford to run them. They could if they used the money from the tax payers because as a nation we pay too much tax. The police are tax collectors for the banks and corporations FIRST! And when you need help they turn into Policeman/woman SECOND.

Its silly to say, we have a load of gold just sitting there doing nothing so lets just sell it! Well No! We as a nation own that gold and they have no rights to sell it without our permission, You say they sold it but that's not the case, they might of well of just given it away because we the public don't get anything for it which is why I said he gave it away. But you know what, fu*k it, your all happy to let these fuc*ers in governement screw you over and make you pay for sh*t you don't have too, that's fine.
I was put on this earth to experience life, Not to pay fines, work for pennys to pay my bills and enter into contracts fraudulently by my so called leaders. Well I don't vote for ex bankers ripping me off every five mins.
