"Rich1985 please do not tar all advisers with the same brush"
Why not? They, along with members of the public seem to do it to those who are unemployed. You get what you give and all that.
As I said not all the same, Im sure its people like this scum that have offered advice on here more than once.
"I sugest you look at the bigger picture"
I already do. Hence why I make an extra effort to be polite and courteous whenever I interact with staff members. It's a shame the favour is rarely returned.
Your hoestly telling me everyone in the office treates you like scum eveytime you attend.?
"people with attitudes like yourslef"
Can you really blame me for having an attitude, given what I've been through lately? Not really!
Uea I can!
"Staff are threatened on a daily basis"
Is this really true, or just an exaggeration? Because in all the time I have been visiting the job centre I have not seen a single member of staff get threatened. Then again, I guess it all depends on where you are situated in the country. After all, crime rates surely vary from city to city. Anyway, if you have been threatened or have witnessed any form of intimidation or violence then you have my deepest sympathies. Then again, maybe certain claimants are provoked into being aggressive so that staff members have a valid reason to stop their benefits! If the latter is true then I can only sympathise with the aggressor.
Symathise with the aggressor, you really have no idea what it's like to work in an environment and be threatened, come out of work to see a jobseeker waiting for you and try to follow you home, to have to see customers in a screened room after they have threatened you. Yes this does ahappen and has happened.
"What exactly do you expect form the staff?"
All I want is some professional courtesy, is that really too much to ask?
"You state you are a long term visitor exactly how long?"
That's no-ones business but mine.
Obviously your attitude may be one reason why you arent in work. DWP offer work experience try doing one and see then what you think!0 -
I have personally had bad experiences in the past with the job centre. A past adviser had a go at me for not applying for a job as a carer that she advised me to apply for. I didn't have any of the qualifications needed for the job, nor did I want to be a carer. As I pointed out to her, I could barely look after myself let alone anyone else.0

Possibly, but my poor attitude stems from mistreatment and bad experiences; what I would call a healthy reaction. I was also psychologically abused in my last job, so don't be so ignorant.
I will add that after I made my appeal I was told by the DWP that my local job centre had been informed of my decision. I was then contacted again shortly to schedule an appointment to apply for Hardship Benefit. I was told to attend the next day at 1:15. I wrote this down immediately on the appointment card and when I attended the next day I was told my appointment was not until 2:55! This is B.S.! They were well aware that I was in the process of appealing and are now pulling out all the stops in a vain attempt to fob me off. What makes me so adamant that this is the case? I have spoken to too many individuals who were fobbed off in this manner and they cannot all be mistaken - so don't even try to tell me this was a 'misunderstanding'!
It doesn't matter what you or anyone else says, job centre staff are not the saints they appear to be, and unfortunately for them I am too persistent to just roll over.
High workload or not, threatened daily or not, noone deserves to be tricked or inconvenienced out of receiving benefits they are entitled to!0 -

I have not mentioned any misundertsnding or tried to say mistakes were not made.
I was trying to guage by how long term unemployed you are as to what stage you are in the process to offer some advice as to what you may be entitled to in terms of help to asist you back into work.
I havent said they are saints just trying to point out the other side of the fence. But you seem hellbent that all JCP staff are out to get you and not offer any help, I was trying to offer some but you come across as more bothered about what you feel you are entitled to in terms of benefits rather than getting back into work.
Dont refer to me as ignorant when you have no idea of any of my life experience whether they be good bad or down right awful. I certainly wasnt born with any silver spoon any where near me! I was merely offering some help, obvioulsy not wanted.0 -

I'm well aware of what you have and have not said.
It's really very simple. Don't be so quick to judge me and I won't be so quick to return the favour. You shouldn't dish it out if you cannot take it. Comprende?
I was not born with any silver spoon either. I am willing and looking for work, and help is always welcomed and appreciated; but I would rather help myself.0 -

Can I clarify you threw the insult with your reference to ALL JCP staff, You threw the insults, all I did was I offered to help. I did not judge you as you have. Not all JCP staff are the same. Comprende?
You have made it clear help is neither welcome nor apprechiated. Good luck helping yourself.0 -

"Can I clarify you threw the insult with your reference to ALL JCP staff, You threw the insults"
What on Earth are you talking about? Where exactly did I mention that I was referring to "ALL JCP staff"? I have already said: "I appreciate that not all centres are the same". Anyway, this situation could easily have been avoided if members of staff and members of the public were not so quick to label claimants as if they were all the same, which happens too often in this day and age. You bring it on yourselves.

You said I had an attitude. Whether this is true or not, I find it to be an insulting and very judgemental comment. Comprende?

I wouldn't welcome it from you, no. Certainly not from a person who cannot even spell. How people like you manage to find jobs as career advisers amazes me.0 -

That's a hell of a lot more than the tiny fraction you have on JC staff that enables you to judge the whole.
Is it really? Let's put this into perspective - I've had numerous physical dealings with 'your kind'. I've read about others' negative experiences and have read news articles that reveal what is really going on in some or all of these centres. I've seen with my own eyes what goes on in these places and a picture is worth more than a thousand words as they say. My experiences help to reinforce what I have seen and read. You've known about me for just a few days, so I think it's safe to say that it is you that has just a "tiny fraction" on me.0 -

Re- read your earlier posts where you quoted all JCP staff as beneath you, I askedyou why you felt that and you answered. You have made it clear what you think.
You labelled JCP staff, where have I quoted you as anything?
As for me having a job when my spelling is soo bad!! I have mild dyslexia and dispraxia, I deal with these disabilities as best I can, forgive me for being lazy and not using the spell check option every time I type. I have GCSE grades, A level grades and three NVQ all up to level 4.
I am not a careers adviser either, I never used those words or stated I was. I work for JCP, we do not employ careers advisers. As for how I managed to find a job, well..........you wouldnt welcome any advice or help I may be able to offer.
My last comment, I dont see the point in drawing into an online battle, good luck with your jobsearching.0
