I'm curious: does law not state that any goods for sale must have a visible price list?

Prices - what the law says
All sellers must clearly display the full price, including VAT, of all goods for sale to private consumers.0 -

But then it's not visible, is it?
I'm sure when I read about this (the display price bit) before, it was worded in such a way that you should not have to ask to see the prices - they should just be available.
Heck, doesn't bother me either way - never smoked - just wondered how this particular piece of legislation fitted in with this new one.0 -

I had to see it to believe it. I am waiting now for chocolates and alcohol to be hidden behind closed doors with no price tags or brightly coloured wrappers to compare with. In the interests of good healthy living of course.
The difference being, it's possible to eat chocolate and drink alcohol as part of a healthy lifestyle. It isn't possible to smoke cigarettes in the same way.
Though of course the government does levy an extra tax on alcohol, and I fully expect them to start doing the same on unhealthy foods eventually.0
