    Thanks for the reply.

It was left their inadvertently due to lapse of memory. Does the reason have a bearing on what I should do?

Yes. In the first instance, you're best off trying to speak rationally about this to the club in question. As you left your stuff there absent-mindedly, as a one off, they're likely to be much more sympathetic to your plight than if you'd left it their routinely to "reserve" your locker.

@SebD - Maybe not, but the TIMESCALE does. I'm not aware you've said how long it was left there.

I can't imagine a member of staff taking the trouble to open my locker and dispose of the items while I was out for 10 minutes, taking a call, can you?

No, but the point is, if that *were* the case, then this would be quite shocking. If (as above) you'd left it there for 6 months, it would have been quite understandable.

Are you sure the locker system will actually record which user has which locker? Or is it just that the membership cards open the lockers?

Would it have been obvious at a glance that your stuff was of value? I doubt they take much time about this...could they have just seen (eg) a set of trousers and a shirt, chucked them in the black bag then moved on to the next locker?

How do you 'forget' £500 worth of stuff?

As you said in your title, it was ''unclaimed''

You also seem to have an attitude with everyone on here who is taking the time to try and help you?

Same way I took a jacket out of my wardrobe last year, that I hadn't worn in a while, put it on, found I couldn't get my wallet into the inside pocket easily because it was being blocked by over £400 I had previously left in there and forgotten about:D

    These things happen, sometimes.

    :eek::eek::eek:

    Not to most people.

Being blunt, it sounds like you can afford to lose the £500. Just be more careful in future.
  • MSE is not the right to get sympathy if you're the type to 'forget' you left £400 in a jacket pocket

Oh, anyway. Now the trolling's concluded...A hypothetical question that I thought of the other day whilst looking at one of these "lockers will be emptied each night - and the contents disposed of". Does this constitute a contract? So if I had a large amount of garden waste / scrap metal / plutonium, that I wanted getting rid of...could I just leave it in the lockers, would they be bound to get rid of it?

Why do so many people feel the need to jump in and make rude comments or otherwise hijack genuine threads?

It really is quite boring, the Internet's been with us a long time now, can't people get over their ability to be anonymously nasty? Will the novelty ever wear off, for them?

If anyone has any actual advice, I would be grateful.

Any and all other input will be ignored, hereon.

Thanks to those who HAVE offered advice, thus far.
