Well, against advise and my own judgement I have bitten the bullet and submitted a FIT application to EDF and emailed Good Energy to withdraw it there. I will also phone good soon to double wammy the cancel.

Been doing a bit of research and there is nothing but pain from Good FIT customers.

Think im crazy but better to take the pain now than down the line :o) Good prolly havent even read my email yet anyway!!

His FiT supplier should ask him to take readings quarterly, so he should have done at least one reading by now. I don't think he will lose money - it should just get rolled over into the next payment, but best to keep on top of it.
Thanks for the responses guys, I'm glad that he wont lose his money.

I think I may get in contact and just make sure that he remembers that he has the systems and should be claiming the for the payments. :)

you should get a visit from a meter reader once a year who will ask to see and read the generation meter.
Yes, but that has nothing to do with submitting quarterly readings for FiT payments and is unlikely to trigger one.

Thinking about it, EDF did read our import meter about a month ago (it is outside) and didn't read the gen meter then (which is inside). But then, EDF may not even be providing the FIT, I don't know who it is registered with.

I think I will have to speak with either the landlord or letting agent to make sure it isn't being forgotten. :)

Funnily enough Good Energy have just emailed me with this quarter's Fit payment details, which are bang on the dates advertised.

Tbh though whilst I like Good Energy's commitment to sourcing 100% renewable energy, getting them to pay your Fit doesn't really make any difference from an environmental perspective.

I'd definitely call them to confirm the cancellation too, and make a note of who you spoke to.

    Hi Istar,
Can you tell me whether you are on prepay or credit meter please? I've looked at putting panels on some of my rental properties but there was an issue with prepay meters and panels not working together when the credits ran out. be nice to know if the issue has been fixed or not?

    Morning everyone!

After reading some terrible reviews of Good Energy i am going to attempt to stop the application and redo it with EDF.

Do you think if i fill in the EDF form and submit it and just email good to tell them to cancel my application that will be enough?
As another contributor stated; I would stick with the one you have at the moment until it is dusted, then change to someone else. I would suggest Eon, they have it all sorted now. Online accounts payments within seven days....Happy days..... coffee.gif

Yes and no. I am with EDF for FITs and I get an e-mail every 3 months requesting a meter reading. He shouldn't lose out and - if memory serves - you should get a visit from a meter reader once a year who will ask to see and read the generation meter.

I think that is every two years for the meter reading; as for payments; don't think you lose out, you just have to wait until the next due date and then get the two added together..... smiley-laughing021.gif Back to the office......
4.32 O's today, happy with that, all things considered.....coffee.gif

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

The panels will not generate anything if there is a power interruption, so if the credit runs out, no solar power, same as when there is a power cut. There's not much that can be done about that.

It wouldn't make any difference, the reading of the import meter and generation meter are currently two completely separate operations.
