Morning everyone!
After reading some terrible reviews of Good Energy i am going to attempt to stop the application and redo it with EDF.
Do you think if i fill in the EDF form and submit it and just email good to tell them to cancel my application that will be enough?Mortgage Free 22/03/17

I would stick with them now - trying to change could end up causing you all sorts of problems.
Ultimately, you'll get your money - it'll just take longer.0 -

Your probably right. Maybe i will stick with good and change if they are as terrible as everyone says
A few comments on here about not receiving paperwork for weeks and weeks. Does that mean there will be no payments either?

My experience is the "weeks and weeks" is more like "months and months"!
Yeah, payments won't be for a while after that I'd imagine.
On the back of this discussion I fired off an email to them complaining about their poor customer service - will be interesting to see if they continue to ignore me. Will have to resort to picking up the phone if so :eek:0 -
A quick question about FIT payments.
I am in a rented house so my landlord gets the FIT payments, but since we moved in in April we have not been asked to give a reading from the gen meter. We were told that they would ask us to read it every now and then, but have heard nothing.
Will our landlord miss out on payments if he doesn't send off the reading?
He is actually a friend of our family so we don't want him to lose out. I don't think he really knows anything about how the system works, he only had the panels fitted to help reduce the bills of his tenants.
Should I get in contact and let him know that he should have taken a reading by now?0 -

Yes and no. I am with EDF for FITs and I get an e-mail every 3 months requesting a meter reading. He shouldn't lose out and - if memory serves - you should get a visit from a meter reader once a year who will ask to see and read the generation meter. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. His FiT supplier should ask him to take readings quarterly, so he should have done at least one reading by now. I don't think he will lose money - it should just get rolled over into the next payment, but best to keep on top of it.My PV system: South West England, 10x 250Wp Trina Solar panels, Fronius Inverter, South facing roof, 35° pitch with no shading.0 -

I went with Good Energy and yes they are slow, but once you are registered it seems to work fine. They don't pay quickly, but are consistent. i.e. they will pay 2 months after the reading is submitted, so after a long wait for the first payment, you will receive them every 3 months. They publish the dates on their website.
I've recently switched my Gas and Electricity to them and they were also pretty hopeless at replying to emails. Or replying but not actioning what they said they'd do. Just call the 0800 number - they seem better in person.
I suspect they have seen a large influx of customers recently and are struggling to cope with the transition from a very small to medium sized player. My PV system: South West England, 10x 250Wp Trina Solar panels, Fronius Inverter, South facing roof, 35° pitch with no shading.0
