    4.42 O's for us yesterday.

Really pleased we removed that chimney. Have to say though that the roof does not look the same without it. Somehow I miss it!!! I know it sounds silly but it gave the house a bit of its character. Now have a black pipe thingy sticking out of the east side of the roof. Oh and still have the chimney stack on the left hand side. Neither of them cause any shading issues I am pleased to say.

Mmmmmm!!!!!! What shall we do about the rainforest trees that shade us all winter?????

My very first full day with panels yesterday. Generated 18.6 kwh's with a 4kwp system. So thats 4.65 O's?

    Doesnt seem too bad!

Oh, and hello everyone! Im James! Applied to Good Energy for our FIT yesterday and they quoted 6 weeks to get us set up. Hope they will take a zero meter reading?

Excellent result. Hope you were pleased with the install?

Yes good energy should take the reading on the form even if it takes a while.to process it. While youre waiting for your first lot of FiT payment enjoy the savings on imported electricity :)

Nice day yesterday with 25.4kWh / 4.55 Os.

So week 1 closed up, with month prediction running at 103% (ATM).

Annual estimation (if rest of year average) currently running at 107%. I know anything (and everything) can still happen, but haven't seen numbers that high before. So good year so far ...... he says tempting fate! :shhh:

    Mart.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 28kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.

Yes we are very pleased. Its very neat and you cant see any cables as they were all routed down cavity walls. The only thing you can see is the meter and the emergency shut of switch. They are beside the fuse box in the hall so i might box them in as the switch is bright yellow!

We would be enjoying even more savings but when the installer was going to fit the iboost to the imerssion heater they noticed that it had been leaking.

Currently trying to get the house builders to fix it as the house is only 3 years old but we are having difficulty proving its been annually serviced! The plumber has filled in the due date sticker on the cylinder but thats not enough proof for them. Need to get written confirmation from him and hes on holiday until next week! Nightmare!

Alas, it doesn't work quite that quickly ! Electricity consumption will reduce but if you're paying by direct debit it will probably take your suppliers 6 months to adjust monthly payment downwards. (of course if you suddenly installed a new item that consumed a lot of electricity they'd be much quicker to increase DD payments !)

Haha yes. Also as we both work during the day Mon - fri dont think we are really going to save massive amounts. We do have timers on the washing machine and dishwasher though so set them to start at 11.30 and 1.30 today :D

How have you applied to Good Energy?
If postal, then they ask for a reading from receipt of your application, so could lose the first few days.

We emailed our app, but due to me being knackered it sat in draft folder not sent!
We lost 25kWh generation from the Friday afternoon commissioning through to Monday am when I realised my boo-boo!

They take absolutely ages to confirm any details, and don't expect to get any paperwork until long after you submit your first reading.
Oh, and don't expect any payment in anything like their stated times!

    Good luck though!
4kWp, SSE, SolarEdge P300 optimisers & SE3500 Inverter, in occasionally sunny Corby, Northants.
Now with added Sunsynk 5kw hybrid ecco inverter & 15kWh Fogstar batteries. Oh Octopus Energy too.

If you are with EDF you can just request it through your online account or iPhone app. I did it a few weeks ago. They asked me how much I thought I should pay and why, and within a few hours I had a confirmation that they were changing it and a written letter then next day.

I just told them that since I had a solar array my consumption was much lower and I would build up a huge over payment with them.

    Easy peasy.

Other suppliers may have a similar system.
