Yesterday was our 7th Hawaii in a row, with an average of 5.5 Os per day since the moist last Saturday we had.Cider Country Solar PV generator: 3.7kWp Enfinity system on unshaded SE (-36deg azimuth) & 45deg roof0

Same here. Hawaii + 0.62 O's = 22.5kWh yesterday:T

You can't beat a stock of instantly pourable........and another 23 btls ready for this Sat......:rotfl:

LOL,

With all this good weather this past week... not one Hawaii... but teetering soooooo close each day! The heat certainly seems to affect panel efficiency more than I expected.
Just hit 102% estimate for this month, so this will most definitely be my best since install.
For instance, avergaing around 2.8 peak, whereas with the sunny but slightly cooler weather of a couple of weeks ago I was just about maxing out the inverter.
Now... Why hasn't anyone come up with an idea of cold water pipes running behind the panels to cool them down, and maybe even heat said pipe water and diverting to a tank for usage4kWp system (Feb 2014) : 1.5 SW, 2.5 NE (16x Bisol BMO/250, Aurora Power-One UNO PVI-3.6 Inverter : pvoutput.org/list.jsp?id=299350 -

Me too! As this is my first summer I`ve been very surprised at the affect the higher temp has on panel efficiency.....even up here in far NE ScotlandAnyone got any figures on this? i.e. efficiency % drop for each temperature degree increase....
I remember when I got my installation prediction for the year back in Feb I wondered why May was down as the best month and not June/July.3.975 kWp System, South facing, 21 degree pitch, 15 x Canadian Solar Elps, Samil Inverter, location NE Scotland (Fraserburgh) Bring on the Sun :beer:0 -

Hiya Shavy, you'll need to look at the specific datasheet for a particular panel make/model, but generally their power output is stated at about 25C. Give or take, most panels seem to lose about 0.4% performance per 1C rise, or 1% for 2.5C rise (IYSWIM).
So 25C rise should knock about 10% off performance.
Remember this is the panel temp, not the air temp, so think hot metal car in the sun, not air temp.
I've been seeing my ESE system running at about 70 to 75% this last week (approx 2.6kW from 3.58kWp), whilst sitting in constant sun, clear sky, but no wind to cool the panels, and flush out the hot air build up. But, regardless, lots of nice generation, and looking like a very good July, possibly 120%. Fingers crossed.
Mart.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

Mart.
Thanks for that, very informative. I`ve seen big drops in generation since the warmer weather. Back in May I broke the elusive 30 kWh barrier and presumed I`d do even better over the last couple of months but the last couple of blue sky days have seen me hit 24/25ish. Still, I`m not complaining! Generated about 2400kWh since Feb 26th.....still no cheque yet though :question:3.975 kWp System, South facing, 21 degree pitch, 15 x Canadian Solar Elps, Samil Inverter, location NE Scotland (Fraserburgh) Bring on the Sun :beer:0 -
