4.65 O's today:D
Somehow managed to use over 50% of it.....even though we were out most of the day:T16 Sanyo Hit 250s.4kWp SMA 3.8kWp inverter. SW roof. 28° pitch. Minimal shade. Nov 2011 install. Hybrid car. Ripple Kirk Hill. N.E Lincs Coast.0 -
That's not Heineken is it .........
Just about managed a/an Hawaii + 0.68 O's today; need to average 5.96 O's over the next four days to beat July '13....Think it is doable, spoke to me panels this evening, told em the score, they are up for it; we shall see....:rotfl::rotfl:

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).0 -
Martyn1981 wrote: »Hiya Shavy, you'll need to look at the specific datasheet for a particular panel make/model, but generally their power output is stated at about 25C. Give or take, most panels seem to lose about 0.4% performance per 1C rise, or 1% for 2.5C rise (IYSWIM).
So 25C rise should knock about 10% off performance.
Remember this is the panel temp, not the air temp, so think hot metal car in the sun, not air temp.
I've been seeing my ESE system running at about 70 to 75% this last week (approx 2.6kW from 3.58kWp), whilst sitting in constant sun, clear sky, but no wind to cool the panels, and flush out the hot air build up. But, regardless, lots of nice generation, and looking like a very good July, possibly 120%. Fingers crossed.
Mart.
So with a panel temperature of 50C or more, I was losing a good 10% of possible output due to the temperature rise above 25C. Remember, at temperatures lower than 25C, there will be an increase in output. Need a good stiff northerly breeze and 16 hours of sun at the same time. If only.

Back in May I broke the elusive 30 kWh barrier and presumed I`d do even better over the last couple of months but the last couple of blue sky days have seen me hit 24/25ish.2kWp Solar PV - 10*200W Kioto, SMA Sunny Boy 2000HF, SSE facing, some shading in winter, 37° pitch, installed Jun-2011, inverter replaced Sep-2017 AND Feb-2022.0

It was around 8 degrees cooler yesterday than Saturday and the system peaked at 3.56kW as opposed to 2.8kW - can't be bothered to work out that efficiency % against temp4kWp system (Feb 2014) : 1.5 SW, 2.5 NE (16x Bisol BMO/250, Aurora Power-One UNO PVI-3.6 Inverter : pvoutput.org/list.jsp?id=299350

Offset cost of water! (You are all on meters, I trust
)
No meters here in Scotland!
Just got myself a couple of hozelock fittings, a 15m garden hose and a Hozelock Sink Adapter. My baby enjoyed his first venture into the paddling pool yday, thought I could make the most of my free hot water by running a hose from the utility room sink out into the paddling pool! Just not sure how long hot water should last on a sunny day, 210L tank, average flow maybe about 15L/min possibly? I don`t know
Not very `green` I know, but in my little head I make up for it with the electric units I don`t use from the grid3.975 kWp System, South facing, 21 degree pitch, 15 x Canadian Solar Elps, Samil Inverter, location NE Scotland (Fraserburgh) Bring on the Sun :beer:0 -

Really? I never knew that. My bills halved when I got a meter fitted 14 years ago; that was voluntary, it's pretty much compulsory now.
Since when?
As far as i was aware you can ask to be swapped to metered and then have 12 months in which to change your mind, other than that it's not compulsory.2 kWp SEbE , 2kWp SSW & 2.5kWp NWbW.....in sunny North Derbyshire17.7kWh Givenergy battery added(for the power hungry kids)0
