I may well do that, thanks. I am already on PVOutput and I compare myself to two nearby systems.

Hawaii so far, how will the afternoon do...
    3.924kWp (12X327Wp SunPower). SolarEdge SE3500 inverter.
Surrey/SE. 30 degree roof pitch, chimney shading from mid afternoon.

    That's quite neat!

I need to download some data myself from the inverter and start comparing. That site I posted looks really useful for getting a comparison with a bunch of PV systems though which is probably the best practical comparison one can achieve.

    21.24 KWH's today!!

    My first Hawaii!!

In extra energy saving news, after extensive negotiations, we are changing our boiler to a combi to ensure sufficient hot water.

Likely to be Ebaying a slightly used Iboost and an expensive digital pumped Mira shower system shortly....

11.97 kWh - tantalisingly close to a "6" - a bit surprising actually as there was the occasional cloud. That was the best day since August 1st! :)
2kWp Solar PV - 10*200W Kioto, SMA Sunny Boy 2000HF, SSE facing, some shading in winter, 37° pitch, installed Jun-2011, inverter replaced Sep-2017 AND Feb-2022.

    Indeed, they are both arbitrary.
In what sense is PVGIS, which takes account of many variables, "arbitrary"?

I must get round to uploading my pvoutput stuff, I'm months out of date - either that or give up on it. It showed I was doing passably well compared with other local systems, but nothing spectacular.

Incoming picture taken at 15.45 this afternoon... not brilliant but hopefully clear enough:

    2014_04_15_15_45_49_crop.jpg

The chart shows that nearly everything was generated before 15.00.
The blip just around 13.00 was when we had to power down the inverter to fire up the SolarImmersion, which is working a treat!

    energy_chart_3.png

So, the shadow on the roof from the chimney - is that robbing me of afternoon generation and might be worth looking at optimisers, or is it nothing to worry about?

Oh, and what to do about the flying rats?! I don't want to kill them (ok, I do!), but would an airsoft gun (onbviously non-lethal) be an acceptable teaching tool to encourage them to poo elsewhere?!

Thanks again to all! And my first 5 O :)
4kWp, SSE, SolarEdge P300 optimisers & SE3500 Inverter, in occasionally sunny Corby, Northants.
Now with added Sunsynk 5kw hybrid ecco inverter & 15kWh Fogstar batteries. Oh Octopus Energy too.

In the sense that historic isolation levels cannot determine future levels.

To get a sensible comparison you really need to compare with other installations in your area.
