Renewables: "talking 'bout my generation"

Thanks to OscarGrouch's fancy graphs, ive also acquired a Wattson. Very simple to install - if you can get to the wires! mine were a bit of a squeeze due to the consumer unit being at floor level and the single core wires going to the generation meter being in trunking, but got there in the end.
First impression are good - have downloaded Holmes so fancy graphs to follow shortly!
If anyone wants a cheap GEO solo PV monitor (monitors generation only via single LED pulse reader), let me know!
Have done 3-4 O's last two days - not bad. Nearly at 2MWh since install...My PV system: South West England, 10x 250Wp Trina Solar panels, Fronius Inverter, South facing roof, 35° pitch with no shading.0 -
I, too, am interested in replacing my GEO Solo with a Wattson, but I'm concerned on the transmitter's power. The GEO transmitter is in a cubby hole with the inverter and the signal won't reach my living room. The cables that need clamps on for the Wattson are on the other side of the wall (where the GEO transmitter is) in the outdoor cabinet (so a further breezeblock wall to go through).4kWp system (Feb 2014) : 1.5 SW, 2.5 NE (16x Bisol BMO/250, Aurora Power-One UNO PVI-3.6 Inverter : pvoutput.org/list.jsp?id=299350

My initial impression is that the wattson transmitter is better, as the equipment in the same place i've not experienced any problems with wattson, wheres the geo used to lose the signal occasionally. The wattson transmitter also has a little aerial.
Could always bang a hole through the wall and locate the transmitter on the other side if still a problem? My PV system: South West England, 10x 250Wp Trina Solar panels, Fronius Inverter, South facing roof, 35° pitch with no shading.0 -
All my wiring including generation metere etc is in the same place, easy to get to. So fitting a wattson should be straight forward?
So, are these best with an oil filled radiator? I think I might get one before next winter - as it seems a bit pointless getting one now when my heating will be going off soon.
My generation recently on my 3.924kw system in South east England, facing south east has been:Date kWh Os 20/3/2014 9.79 2.49 21/3/2014 15.811 4.03 22/3/2014 17.783 4.53 23/3/2014 14.084 3.59

My system tripped on over voltage yesterday while I was oot, had my installer back today and it turns out I was set up with one string instead of two. Rectified now....for the last part of the day my generation seems better than before, this sound right?
I saw an instantaneous reading of 3300 watts at one point as well, previous highest was aboot 2700 watts....maybe just a coincidence!3.975 kWp System, South facing, 21 degree pitch, 15 x Canadian Solar Elps, Samil Inverter, location NE Scotland (Fraserburgh) Bring on the Sun :beer:0 -
How long have you had your system? I've seen an instantaneous reading as high as 3,700w, but only very briefly. I'm actually a bit annoyed as my inverter is limited to 3.5kW, rather than the 3.68kW that it would have been if I'd gone one size up. I guess this probably won't be a big deal on average as it will rarely be above that...

An unexpected 19.97 kWh for me today (3.92 kWp).0

Had it nearly a month, best for a day has been about 18 kWh. The installer told me the one string would work away no problem but once the sun starts getting higher in the sky (e.g. yesterday!) It would trip on over voltage. Fingers crossed for a nice haul tomorrow!3.975 kWp System, South facing, 21 degree pitch, 15 x Canadian Solar Elps, Samil Inverter, location NE Scotland (Fraserburgh) Bring on the Sun :beer:0
