Renewables: "talking 'bout my generation"

10kw? Are you sure? Mine is going at the moment :-(, I got called away from the breadmaking earlier, and it seems to be about 1.5, and it's an oldie.
Try looking in something like the IKEA online catalogue for an idea of what modern ones use.
Whoops, tell a lie - just turned it off and I went from 2.060 to 122 watts, so 1.938 for the oven.0 -
15 kw each for the last two days.
...
I'm really shocked at the oven, 10 kw, that's massive.
Your 15kW would be 15kWh (kilo watt hours) or 15 units, as it is sometimes called.
10kW would be about 40 amps, which is just about standard (30 or 40 amps) for a cooker feed, but the oven would be normally be only a part of that. Certainly, with my cooker you'd have to have everything turned on to get up to that.
But, yes - the cooker is one of the hungriest beasts in the house, along with the immersion heater.4kWp, Panels: 16 Hyundai HIS250MG, Inverter: SMA Sunny Boy 4000TLLocation: Bedford, Roof: South East facing, 20 degree pitch20kWh Pylontech US5000 batteries, Lux AC inverter,Skoda Enyaq iV80, TADO Central Heating control0 -

As part of my learning curve I've been looking at how much power each of our appliances use. I'm really shocked at the oven, 10 kw, that's massive. I will not be able to generate enough to run it, is everybody else in the same boat? The Oven is fairly old....maybe newer ones are less.
sleepy
How have you worked out what it is using, by the User Guide or other means? We have a double oven, largest one when switched on from cold uses 1.720 kW. Obviously, when it hits temperature it uses 20W (Fan and oven light running) until the thermostat kicks in to bring it back up to temp.

4.68 O's today, FIT due to be sent off the morrow, can't wait for the £500+ cheque to arrive.....2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).0 -

Hiya sleepy. Another option you might like to try is a slow cooker. Our neighbour was telling us for years to get one, then we got one to use in conjunction with the PV and wish we'd got one much sooner. The food is fantastic.
It works well with PV as it runs on low power for longer, so easier to match to generation, and can mean a nice 'PV' cooked dinner in the winter months, ready when the sun sets.
Generation still going well, Wifey is feeding my addiction by checking the TGM's for me as ribs won't allow me to hop up onto the worktop to peer over the cabinet at the moment. Plus the tree is now taunting me with it's 6 week reprieve, but she's coming down, and hopefully just in time for lower autumn sun angle.
15.9kWh (2.85 Os) today, and about 5% ahead of target if rest of month is average. Weather for next 10 days looks better than average, so expect snow!
Met office anomaly maps still aren't ready for July.Really annoying as I want to see just how exceptional it was, and how it affected different parts of UK.
Mart.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

I've been a bit busy recently to post daily, but yesterday saw us edge through 1MWh generation to date - hurrah!
We also have a backwards running meter. I told my supplier about this back in May. They were meant to change it yesterday but failed to keep the appointment. So £22 compensation and appointment rearranged for end October. They also agreed to use my April reading when the meter is changed, effectively giving us 6 months of free electricityMy PV system: South West England, 10x 250Wp Trina Solar panels, Fronius Inverter, South facing roof, 35° pitch with no shading.0
