3.44 O's2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.
Reg. for FIT Nov 2011. "It's not what you generate; it's how you use it that matters". One very clean Vauxhall Diesel Sri, £30.00 Road Tax:
Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).0 -
Generation not great last two days, Sun 6.1kWh, Mon 10.9kWh (1.1 O's & 1.95 O's). But ticking along.silverwhistle wrote: »@Martyn " but switch from gas hob to induction"... How do you find it? Now I've returned to the UK I've found my house - I rented out to a housing association - to be a shambles [no carpets, ruined kitchen tiles, worktops, disappeared loft ladder, greenhouse! etc, etc. ...} with a condemned gas hob!
I've put the wheels in motion to get PV - bad timing I know - and intend to get an induction hob to replace the gas, and was wondering on peoples' experiences.
Hiya silverwhistle, we really like the induction hob, very fast, easy to clean. But why not try one out first by buying a single portable worktop hob. They go well with PV, but will depend on the time of day/generation. Part of the reason I went for WNW extension, was to create good gen (1kWh+) at tea time, around 5.30 - 6.30pm in the BST months.I swapped last year, went from my power hungry plasma that ate 350W an hour to an lcd that takes a more modest 84W an hour.
Hiya T. Yep, Zeup got me thinking way back, and Wifey decided she wanted a bigger tv. I think our 32inch LCD runs at about 160W, so a 100W reduction to a 39 to 42inch 50/60W LED is quite remarkable.
Savings in the evenings, and more green export during daylight!
Mart.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

Haven't we been here before?
Actually KS, If we're being picky, It consumes nothing now, not in my household anyway, but yes 350Wh per hour.Martyn1981 wrote: »Hiya T. Mart.
Our 84Wh Samsung is a 55" smart tv, have a good dig around, you'll be surprised what you can get for your money these days. Don't think I could go back to anything smaller now(kids would never stop moaning), be like looking at a postage stamp:D
I use this site to get a good comparison

3.75 O's yesterday. Most of the rain came in the evening:D
Edit. Looking at my last available power consumption figures on Eon's website I estimated I'd used over 4000kWh (only showed last 6 months pre PV)
By checking an earlier post I had put on this board, I realised it was a whopping ............5149kWh:)16 Sanyo Hit 250s.4kWp SMA 3.8kWp inverter. SW roof. 28° pitch. Minimal shade. Nov 2011 install. Hybrid car. Ripple Kirk Hill. N.E Lincs Coast.0 -

Can't comment on gas, but we switched from halogen to induction a few months ago. Had to buy new pans, sadly, but the speed and control is utterly remarkable. Sadly, AEG seem to be employing ex airborne early warning programmers to design their user interfaces, so the control panel can't be operated unless you have a PhD in IT or are under 12 years old (or both). You can get really cheap free standing ones, from time to time, in Lidl and Aldi.4kWp, Panels: 16 Hyundai HIS250MG, Inverter: SMA Sunny Boy 4000TLLocation: Bedford, Roof: South East facing, 20 degree pitch20kWh Pylontech US5000 batteries, Lux AC inverter,Skoda Enyaq iV80, TADO Central Heating control0 -
I treated the home to a massive TV for the Olympics last year, unfortunately it's a plasma
Something like 500W?
I was aware, just don't like led in large sizes, just too 'cartoony'.
At least I get stunning pictures for my leccy guzzling TV.
BBC forecast lashing rain all day yesterday, reality was blue or slight haze blue all day (sunbathing) with heavy rain at 6 for 30 mins then blue 'til night-time. Garden really needed the rain. Perfectly timed to not affect my panels too much.
Today looks even better.0 -

I am having the same experience trying to get my SMA connected to my bluetooth dongle.

I can comment on the ones I have - AEG. It is very complicated.
Power levels for rings are:
u 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 P
u is 'keep warm'
P is 'boost' (defeats the power sharing between pairs of rings and just hits continuous full power for a short time)
4 to 9 appear to be variable (i.e. they run continuously at the power you set)
u to 3 appears to start on/off proportional control - you can hear the relay clicking in and out, presumably switching on and off at power 4 (which may be the minimum it can run at).
Note the mention of power sharing between pairs of rings (and the grill and oven). The total theoretical load of the cooker is excessive for a cooker feed, so it does a form of power sharing between 2 or 3 devices i.e. 2 rings are given power alternately to maintain their individual average power levels.
So, if you can work all that out you're doing better than me. I console myself with the notion that the solar is making some contribution to it.4kWp, Panels: 16 Hyundai HIS250MG, Inverter: SMA Sunny Boy 4000TLLocation: Bedford, Roof: South East facing, 20 degree pitch20kWh Pylontech US5000 batteries, Lux AC inverter,Skoda Enyaq iV80, TADO Central Heating control0 -

What are you attempting to do over the Bluetooth link ??
