Not been doing so bad in Cardiff, got 11 for the third day running (target for June is 13 per day). I do however benefit slightly from bad weather by having an ESE system, since the better weather gives me less and less generation from 3pm onwards when I'm relying on reflection (or is it refraction?), so cloudy weather gives me better numbers, as long as it's not too cloudy.

Hopefully the weather will improve from next Monday, but doubt it can make up for the losses!

Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.

White fluffy clouds with several sunny intervals though still only a 2kW peak.

But long day (generation from 05:10 till 20:40) gave daily total of 11.56 kWh.

You don't really have 'losses' - just not quite such big gains as you might have hoped.

    Try applying my 'test'

"If I hadn't bought the SPs, what would I be earning (or not spending)"

In my case, it's lost interest on £12k which would is currently 3.1%pa or £31 per month.

Only when there's so little sunshine that I don't earn that can I be said to be 'losing' - and that didn't even happen in December ! If (say) someone borrowed the installation fee on a loan at 10% p.a. they might come closer to 'losing' occasionally - but no great danger of that on the pre 2012 installation rates.

That's pretty impressive Oscar, I wasn't expecting numbers that high.

Similar chat here, when I was taking the mick out of RoxyK

Roxy was over by a similar amount to you, but on a bigger system.

Maybe it is over-reading a bit, but you will see some strange numbers at times when the panels get to cool down a bit (this only only takes a few minutes when a cloud passes over).

Did you manage to put the kettle on in time to use it? ;)

    Mart.

Ooh I thought my ears were burning ;)

Interesting that my inverter under reads compared to Oscar's over reading one. Finally logged on with my first quarters reading of 1,220 from the generation meter. Unfortunately I have to send DH into the loft to get my inverter online again as I had to switch routers yesterday so I guess the connection needs to be reset.

I'll post what my inverter says when I manage to log in!

As some would say 'Don't count yer chickens, afore they hatch':rotfl: I only did 10kWh today, managed last night to deflect the street lights on to the SP's:j
2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.
Reg. for FIT Nov 2011. "It's not what you generate; it's how you use it that matters". One very clean Vauxhall Diesel Sri, £30.00 Road Tax: B)

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).
