If some clouds come over, the OptiPlug shuts the appliance down until the surplus energy builds up again. The OptiPlug never lets you use more than what you have got surplus for.....that’s what I call an energy saver.....[/QUOTE]
Managed to find a brochure on the Wattson website :-
http://www.diykyoto.com/store/assets/0000/0936/Optiplug_Brochure_web.pdf
but they don't tell you price or where to buy one. Perhaps you could enlighten us ?
Edited: No idea why but clicking on this link seems to freeze my computer up most times. Would suggest anyone who wants to read it right clicks onthe link then saves document locally.
OR use this link instead :-

which loads much better then try & follow links on the page.NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50 -
15 kWh for me today, good job I set the timers for the dishwasher and immersion heater as we were out all day. We peaked at 2.78 kWh and this is our highest ever generation.:hello:0

I've been searching for the price too as this looks like a very good idea, looks like you have to log in to get further information. Can you please pm me if you get the price and don't want to publish it.:hello:0 -
Has anyone ever generated the maximum output of their panels?
Yes, for brief periods when the panels were new & clean ....
When experiencing the 'cloud-edge' effect we've seen instantaneous generation of around 10% above the panel nominal rating, but this is only for a few seconds before either the inverter clipped the generation or the 'cloud-edge' irradiation boost reduced (or both) ....
Holding anything over 90% of the nominal rated performance for an extended period is rare and requires a combination of an exceptionally clear sky, not light-blue & hazy, with cool breezy conditions to be present at the time when the sun is best positioned for the system orientation ...

Well done.
Bizarrely, when I followed the link from Wattson's page to all their recommended outlets (inc smarthomeenergy) then searched each site for optiplug, all responded with "search yielded no results" !
£50 for an optiplug sounds a bit more affordable than £400 for an Immersun !NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50 -
