    Very impressive figures there Dave..

What is your average kWh being produced over say the period of 10:00 – 14:30 on a day similar to this one?
Between 10:00 and 14:30, System 1 produced 8.18 kWh and system 2 produced 7.74 kWh giving a total of 15.92 kWh. It was just before 14:30 that the clouds started to arrive and production fell back. Otherwise the total for the day would have been well over 20kWh.

[Edit] figures for today just available:
    System 1: 3.996 kWh
    System 2: 3.959 kWh

    Total: 7.955kWh

So, fair to say 3.53 kWh surplus per hour; certainly enough for a kettle on continuouse boil for 4.5 hours. I never totally cover one boil...Knew I should have got a bigger system...

Bagged another 10.4 today, long may the sun shine:j

I did submit my meter readings to my supplier today(31/12/12-16/02/13),we've bought about 660kWh and generated just under 200kWh. By my rough calculations thats paid around £92 for leccy and getting paid about £90. Not bad at all,£2 for 6 weeks leccy midwinter,we would have have been in profit but for 2 weeks of none generation due to the white fluffy stuff clinging to the panels as Eric says.

One for you here Oscar, told the wife about all the gizmo's and the reply i got back was "WHY DO WE HAVE TO USE IT". She's happy to go for a wattson but i think is drawing the line with plugins/sockets etc etc cos they cost more than we'll actually save. Fair point if my leccy bill is only £2 midwinter(shouldn't have told her that bit i suppose)

9.87 kWh today with loads done. Talking about nifty gadgets I have a standard Remoska cooker which uses 470 watts, ugly thing but an amazing item which gets used every day. Bought it 4 years ago and still love it X

    :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: less then yesterday ... 7.38kwh :eek::eek::eek: today

usually upto 10.30am it generates total of 0.50kwh in total then after that it slowly picks up... that's when the sun reaches the panel without much shading.....
  • 4.7 kWh today

"WHY DO WE HAVE TO USE IT"? Very good question:- 'use it or lose it' springs to mind.

    You bought 660 kW @ say 10p. per kW = £66.
Generation 200kW @ old rate inc. of Export rate = £94. So you have made £28. (nice)
Nice Calculation: unfortunately, does not stack.
Suppose you used 660kW and only bought 330kW @ £33.00. Now you have made £61. So you have made more than double than before. So, the more generated power you can actually use, the greater the return.

I used to try and judge by volume of generation Gizmo's only; akin to 'sticking your finger in the air to see which way the wind is blowing' :) Now, I know exactly to within + or - 4% or less what my system is using from the GRID or Actual and with 1 OptiPlug I know that a small heater will use any surplus that the house is not currently consuming unbeknown to me; in the summer the heater can be re-placed by something to keep the house cool. "Job is a good one".

Currently for Feb, I know that I have used 59.9% of my generation within the house. I also know that 22.7 of all Power used has come from PV; without sticking a single finger in the air. I bet a lot of people here wish they had something that could work that out to at least + or - 4%. :rotfl:

    Ohh 7.4kWh today smiley-laughing021.gif .

    Edit:
As of the 15/02/13 I also know that I have used 122.4 kWh of power compared to 95 kWh recorded on my EDF meter which equates to a saving of 22.39% of Bill for this month; on previous figure of 10p per kW = £2.74p on a low gen month. This, as generation amounts increase, will only get better.. at the moment looks like £33 extra per year and due to get better... :T

    7(ish :p) today.

Long term forecast, is for 9 days of sun or sun with white cloud. If that all arrives .... very very nice!

Been waiting ages, but finally the Met Office anomaly maps are ready. Jan was under for most people, average for me, so my shortfall must be due to winter shading (fair enough):

    http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/climate/uk/anomacts/

Worth a look at 2012 + annual. Sunshine varies but largely average unless you live in the N.West of Scotland, but rainfall was, well, should I spoil the surprise?

    Mart.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.
