10.9 today, best since mid/late October. Good generation from 8am to 4pm. Heating on at 7am, then off at 7.30am. Small leccy heat and solar gain all day, till heating switched on at 4pm. Nice.

Week ahead still looking good, and tomorrow excellent. If it stays dry I might even mow the lawns. Don't remember ever having to mow in mid Feb, but also don't remember the lawns ever shooting up in Jan either. Weird.

    Mart.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.

The Optiplug works with existing Wattson Solar Plus, Wattson Professional and original Wattson systems or as standalone system.

The reference to the standalone system is still confusing me. How can it stand alone where does it get its signals from do you have to buy Wattson sensors?

Also if for example an appliance needs 1800 w and only 1500 w is available what happens .......... does it operate the appliance and draw 300 w from the grid or does it wait, so many ???s in my head.

It is standalone if you buy a Wattson transmitter, but that is not cost effective. Best buy Wattson Solar Plus which includes a transmitter as well.

As I PM'd you, I am still using my B/W TV waiting for Colour to drop down in price. Bet you are still on BetaMax. :rotfl:

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

  • Had a better few days since Wednesday's rubbish 1.1kWh:
    Thur: 9.2kWh
    Fri: 13.0kWh
    Sat: 5.8kWh
    Sun: 11.7kWh

Over those 4 days, the ImmerSUN has used 18kWh to top up our hot water, so around 45% of generation.

Feb average generation is now back up to 6.0kWh, just ahead of PVGIS-Classic estimate of 5.95kWh/day.

Could you let me know where the 1/2 thanks button is please...
Have a look at Optimmersion...same site. Another half may make 1

Afraid that's a deficiency in the MSE site - they don't store 'half thanks' credits. But as you correctly surmise, I do and the mention of Optimmersion is worth another half credit so I gave that posting a whole one. There are of course a number of posters here who have made a large number of unhelpful postings so have a huge negative number in my scoresheet :embarasse

The full link of http://smarthomeenergy.co.uk/optimmersion and price (£414) would have made that posting worth a whole credit :D

Alas, £414 (parts only and they suggest fitting would cost another £200) turns out to be rather more than having an Immersun fully installed.

Still thinking that the Optiplug might be of use to me - just looking for some spare time to sit down and do the sums.
