It would be interesting to know how much power was consumed by the inverter trying to lock onto that level of generation?

    Managed 0.324kWh today.

Went out sledging with my son and had a look at the other houses with panels on,i know which houses have ASG panels on and they aint earning a penny around my estate at the minute...not one single clear roof.

I guess when they're not your own you don't give a ****,me personnally i'd be out there trying to clear them,i'd still want the free leccy. As a footnote all the houses are actually bungalows.

It looks like theres only my garage roof supplying all the "green energy" around me....not likely...the wife uses it all:D

It that 90Wh in simple terms?:rotfl:

6.5 kWh today.... be nice, those were the days....:rotfl:

Only 100 Wh for me though..as the teacher says 'have to do better Shafeeq'. smiley-taunt002.gif
2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.
Reg. for FIT Nov 2011. "It's not what you generate; it's how you use it that matters". One very clean Vauxhall Diesel Sri, £30.00 Road Tax: B)

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

A big fat ZERO today or more accurately production was <10 Wh.

It started snowing at 08:00 and continued to snow gently all day. The Aurora inverter had woken up by 08:00 but had not generated anything.
By the end of the day it was boasting a peak output of 11 watts.
At about 15:00 in a temperature of 1 C the snow started to slide exposing the top row of the three rows of panels. Eventually half the snow slid off the panels and the roof.
My 2 strings must be formed of the top row and half the mid row, and similarly half the mid row and all of the bottom row. One string was claiming over 200V and a power of 9 watts. The other 90V and 0 watts. At this stage the generation meter turned off its constant red light (but I never saw it flash the generation of a whole watt).

Can we say that keeping the inverter ticking over but generating nothing uses less than 9 watts ?

It must be using something, because the temperature of the inverter was reported as 14 C in an attic with a temperature of less than 8 C.

[As an afterthought, it is not just in Glencoe where hikers can be overcome by avalanches. Anyone hiking along my front path past the living room window was at risk of being smothered. Soft snow today but it could be lumps of ice tomorrow.
When I was a kid, I remember people would have metal grids along their guttering to restrain dangers like this - anyone else done their risk assessment? ]
