    Claiming FIT payments

Do you have to claim each quarter or could I wait and claim from now till next March at the start of April? It would be my first claim.
    I think....

Should say in your Ts and Cs, EDF want quarterly readings from me and there is some not too clear blurb in there are two consecutive readings being missed but not entirely clear on the consequences. Really poor Ts and Cs if I'm honest, why it needs to be 22 pages of fairly small text I don't know. The gist of what they are saying could be done in about 8 or 9 pages.

    Hi

Every three months starting from the date of the FiT registration confirmation is usual, your particular FiT partner should advise when the TGM meter is due and provide details on the various available options for submission - some even send a reminder by e-mail a couple of weeks before it's due - but don't rely on it ....

Having read the EDF terms more closely it seems to be saying (although very poorly) that I have to submit meeting reading in January, April, July and October and if I miss two consecutive dates then it will withhold payment, which is interesting for two points, it doesn't appear to be clear that if that is withholding them permanently - ie won;t pay for that period, or if it is just withholding them until I give them a reading - which is surely common sense as how can they pay me until I tell them how much I have generated? At the risk of making their ts & cs longer I think they could be clearer.

So I would suggest you probably need to give quarterly readings to be on the safe side.

Tax free money is always better sat in your accounts rather than in the payers :D
2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.
Reg. for FIT Nov 2011. "It's not what you generate; it's how you use it that matters". One very clean Vauxhall Diesel Sri, £30.00 Road Tax: B)

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

Now that is what you would think....but apparently FIT payments although tax free do count as income for tax credits purposes and are thus effectively taxed at 41p in the £...and actually due to some more arcaneness called disregard the same payments may also be effectively taxed at 41% the following year too....whereas because of the way disregard works even if two lots of payments are received in the following year they will not impact tax credits at all....
    I think....

Only used 6 units of Gas in June thanks to my iboost. The daily standing charge was 4 times as much as out unit usage!

Sadly the tariffs with low standing charges have rediculous unit rates!
