Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

Well, 20 days into the month & this June's generation has bettered 2012 so won't be the worst in our records. With 10 days to run the next target is PVGIS-4(Climate) which is possibly attainable tomorrow, probably Monday .....

Massive use to me with my WNW, sun came out here at same time and I was generating 1.2kW

Shame the rest of the day was pants, my SSW clocked up just 1.9 O's, not checked the others to compare apart from checking what I was generating(saddo I know)
    2 kWp SEbE , 2kWp SSW & 2.5kWp NWbW.....in sunny North Derbyshire17.7kWh Givenergy battery added(for the power hungry kids)

a local residents group is formed and in discussions with all the relevant parties including the planning service

no disagreement that if a solar farm is suitably located, sized and blended into the environment it's not destruction and sheep can potentially graze round the panels etc.

however if a proposal has a 2m high security fence all around it, occupies 250 acres of greenfield and is clearly visible from the nearby round it's a different matter in my opinion

anyone interested can learn more at www.kellsvocal.com and reach your own conclusion whether it's a good thing or not
    Hi

Just looked at the link provided and had a 'drive' around the proposed site on G00gle 5treetview and looked at aerial views going back to 2001 ....

Looks like the area is mainly a mix of pasture land and poor pasture/semi-scrub bordering on moorland, and some poorly drained semi-bog(?) serviced by a number small lanes with mixed hedgerow ... to the west of the site there is an existing pretty large electricity substation complex (hence the site selection) .... so very little of the land concerned seems to be used for arable with a good proportion having little productive arable potential (to see) and currently a relatively low-density population of cattle/sheep ....

Considering the height of the camera-car's camera (2.5m+), it's likely that the panels would be obscured from anyone travelling in a standard passenger vehicle for a pretty high proportion of the route around the site, particularly if there's a hedgerow planting/restoration scheme operated by the developer ....

We've had a number of solar farms (/parks) pop-up around us recently and there's been similar opposition .... two 5MWp system are within a 5 minute drive (30 minute walk) of where I'm sitting and unless you know they're there and specifically looked you'd struggle to see them ... draw a circle with a 10 miles radius of our home and you'd currently include few more 5MWp systems and a 20MWp system ... the 20MWp system is almost invisible from anywhere, there was a sign beside the road which stated 'site for proposed ...' for some time, followed by a '.... site entrance' sign, which after some time prompts you to wonder whether they've started yet and how it's going on, so you slow right down to glimpse the area through gaps in the hedgerow and discover that there are literally tens-of-thousands of panels there already ....

Opposition around here has totally gone, most who were whipped-up into the anti-campaign probably wonder what all the fuss was about now they've seen how un-obtrusive the installations actually are. There is currently a proposal for another small site (~2MWp) a couple of miles away which seems to be going through planning without much (/any?) public opposition, however, a development about 20 miles to the South currently seems to be stirring up a similar level of opposition to that around here 12-18months ago, but I'd expect that a simple 'fact-finding' trip from those affected will see the proposal go-ahead ...

It's great looking at models, aerial photography or artist impressions - however how often would anyone be able to (/forced to) view from those vantage points ...

    Hi

Just checked mine as also with E-on. My rate is 3.44p.

Mart, you mentioned installs after 1/8/12 being 4.85p. Do you mean installs before and not after for the rate of 4.85p.??? If not what is the rate for installs before 1/8/15 ???

    Now I am confused!!!!!

    Edwink ;)

Hi. Yep, there are two rates now for export, pre and post Aug 2012.

The government originally planned to drop the then 21p FiT rate to ~16.6p on the 1/8/12, but instead reduced it to 16p and increased the export rate from the then silly 3.1p (I think, can't remember exactly) to about 4.4p (or so).

This was actually a very sensible move, making the export rate similar to the average leccy supply price on the markets.

    Mart.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.
