That parcel didn't show up again the other day. They think they have lost it now. I don't know how Yodel stay afloat. The internet is littered with complaints about them.
Ordered my niece's birthday presents this morning. Now I need to concentrate on getting a couple of bits for the house for free. Our Brita filter has run out so that's £15 for 4 filters and we still need a cordless phone which is around £20, although I'm not sure if I should try and save for a better quality one or not. Will see how I go.

I would save for a better cordless phone, I seem to have had countless ones that I have bought from Arg*s, the last was 2 years ago and cost £55 for 2. They are rubbish, buttons don't press and on 1 of them I can hardly hear anyone speak!!!0

Had a conversation with my OH earlier on about the state of my laptop. It has been a good laptop and has served me well, but it is in the twilight of its life. It's so slow, freezes up on me at least once a day and one of the keys is missing (which my niece seems to think Father Christmas has taken ).
So OH's answer was 'well get a new one'. But I don't want just any laptop - I want an Apple MacBook . So upshot of the conversation is that OH is going to buy the stuff we need for the flat so I can hoard my Amazon vouchers and get a new laptop.
I'm therefore going to set myself the challenge of getting a brand spanking new Apple MacBook for nothing. Time frame? 10 months. Just think, by the beginning of March 2013, I could be sitting here typing on a beautiful MacBook.
I know I'm going to have to get around £120 a month and I know I'm going to have to pay for birthday presents etc from now on - but I think it would be so worth it.

Thanks JM. I think my OH will buy a better one than the £20 one. He turned his nose up at that.

AAAAAARRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! Excuse me whilst I scream. Yodel are such a joke. They finally found the parcel yesterday and put it on a van for delivery. I sat and waited all day AGAIN and when we checked the system last night, it was back in the depot. There wasn't even an attempted delivery for it. Looks like I'm going to have to physically go and pick it up from the depot (around 20 mins away). The amount of money we have spent on phone calls to Yodel, we could have replaced the item that is being delivered .
Anyway, got an absolute bargain last night. I was sent a trial pack of some sanitary towels and there were 6x 50p off coupons in there. Checked at Tesco and they are only 59p a pack at the moment, so got 6 packs of towels for 54p. That'll keep me going for a while.

Phew, finally picked up that damn parcel. Only just though as they had loaded it on a delivery van again and the guy was literally just about to leave. The depot said the customer service centre had never told them to keep the parcel there so I could collect . A strongly worded letter of complaint is coming Yodel's way and it will start with the definition of 'communication'!
OH is away on a stag weekend in Scotland from tonight until Sunday night. So I've got a nice peaceful weekend.

I hate Yodel too, they are ridiculous!
Good luck with the Macbook though, that's a great target."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

Morning
Just redeemed for another £5 voucher from the bingo :j.
Got a phone call at 10pm last night - it was the Yodel customer service centre! They weren't even aware that I had collected the parcel as the depot hadn't updated the system. Absolute shambles that company is.
Got an email to say that my niece's birthday presents have been despatched and are being sent by (yes, you guessed it) - YODEL!!! Luckily I got them sent to my mum's as she doesn't have a secure entry door with a trade button and there is often someone there. Fingers crossed they don't mess up again.
