I've offered the olive branch to mine and it's turned out pretty well. They've said they'll try to stay out of my way and will also keep the moths and ants away and I've promised not to eat them any more. And if, you know, your history...0

hiyas, we recently moved into a house that is lots of years older than our previous new build but we seem to be plagued by woodlice.. only in 2 certain areas really and none seen upstairs... ne ideas why? and how we can get rid of the horrible things
thank you0 -
We had this problem last year when we moved house and mainly in kitchen. I filled any holes I could find with mastic. Outside there were gaps in the block paving and the house so filled in with dry mortar and dampened with water from a spray. Havent had any in house ot my knowledge no although they do come in the intregal garage
We use to get slugs too0 -
Our house was built in 1876 and we suffer with both woodlice and slugs.
Slugs only in the kitchen (we have eliminated them from the living room by installing a new floor) and woodlice only in the bathroom.MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740 -
We get them too. There is a hole under the washer where the pipes come in which I suspect is the culprit, but I also suspect the ivy growing up the walls doesnt help.
I have wondered if there is some powder or spray that acts as a repellant.0 -
Sprinkling talc powder in the areas they are found is supposed to eliminate them.
Might be worth a try.0 -
You can buy a powder to get rid of them .0

they seem to only be around the edges of the rooms...im soooo sick of em now tho ,, there isnt loads, just a couple here and there edvery morning then sometimes through the day but im starting to feel like ive got a dirty house and gettin paranoid about food etc in cupboards!!0 -
Woodlice dont like dry areas hence why talc may work. Unfortunately it wont stop the problem permanently they must be coming from places that are wet or damp.0
