Think of them as a little community with happy faces, plodding along...okay, I was seduced by a song called "Walter the Woodlouse". And I used to play with woodlice when I was a kid...
but I appreciate they may not be to everyone's liking!
I loved this, I played with them too. How about putting a tray of damp leaves
bits of bark etc and then just transporting them (as far away as you can manage) Strange thought this because if it was a spider I would be having the screaming abdabs, yelling for someone to come and kill it. My son absolutely refuses and will take a piece of paper and a glass and move it outside. Makes me really mad because I know the little sod will only come back in.
Perhaps if I had heard a song about sidney spider I could be more caring.Sealed pot challenge 5430 -

I've noticed quite a few in my house. Not millions but about 5 or 6 over the last couple of months. Could this be anything to worry about?
Cheers in advance. I do realise this may well sound like a sill question but just wondered if I might have an infestation or nest or whatever it is that woodlice do!And if, you know, your history...0 -
I get them in my bathroom at this time of year, I just put powder down.Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)

They might appear harmless, but when you think of it, if they are inside your house and still alive, what do they eat?
You should look for any signs of rotting wood or dry rot anywhere there is timber in your house and have that treated soon.0 -
Cheers for that. I'm gonna bloody well 'ave 'em!And if, you know, your history...0

HELP!!!
Live in a mid-terraced house and we seem to get woodlice appearing in 3 of our upstairs rooms.
The only possible route that I can see is from the garden, climbing up the side of the wall, undertiles of the roof of the kitchen and make their way int the ceiling / floorboards.
We dont have any damp - just wondering how they get into the floor boards upstairs, then crawl out every so often though small gaps between skirting/grippers holding carpets
Seems to have increased week by week.
I know trhey are harmnless and just dry out - but like the lady above, any creepy-crawly gets me screaming.
Any suggestions on ridding these BEASTS!0 -
had a similar problem in my first house - came in one day to find the window sill covered in 100 plus woodlice.
They got quickly treated with some boiling water.
The thing that stopped them coming in totally was replacing the old wooden window with uPVC. Same with the rest of the house - the more windows we replaced the less we saw them.0
