As the water will have gotten everywhere, I highly doubt it will work again I am afraid.

Someone might be able to give you some things to try. I would keep it drying out for now.

  • You should try drying it out, but perhaps water compromised the screen. Look and see if there are any repair shops around, and ask them if they can diagnose the problems, and give you a quote.

  • The first and most important thing to do when any electrical item becomes wet is ... not to switch it on .. because it can blow the circuit... take the ds to apart .. and dry any visable water then put into a warm place it airing cupboard ..for about 1 week .. then try it then if it still doesnt work ... u could try phoning nintendo ..and tellin them that ur child was playing with it and its stopped working .. u have no idea why ... most of the big companies .. ie sony .. virgin .. send a curior with a new/refeb item and take your item away without looking at it ..... GOOD LUCK

Good luck! Hopefully Nintendo haven't followed the lead of mobile phone companies who now try to protect themselves against this 'scam'.

i think it is a lost cause. DD tried turning it on and off before i found out what she had done. i think its had it. may well try and phone nintedo but dont think it will do any good. oh well a valuble lesson has been learned by DD. she will have to wait until her birthday for another.

I know for a fact even with the "red mark" on the phone battery .. a certain phone company .. begining with "V" .. still took away the phone and left a "as new" phone ..... while on this subject .. how many people have items that break down within the warrenty period and dont bother to report it .. i have many friends who have ipods.. phones .. dvd players .. that have broken or have become faulty and they just buy a new one rather than have the "hassle" of returning it.

to take the ds apart, to dry, you need a gamebit.

Oh no, wait.... you need some weired screw driver. sorry, the gamebit is for the 'cube.

if it is dead, do you want to sell the charger for it? LOL. Could be a couple of quid toward the replacement at least (assuming it fits a DS Lite).

    LMK :)
    Nice to save.
