    Looks like daffs to me. Where they are joined at the bottom is probably how they came straight out of the earth. ;)

    Happy BDay Simba, and thank you for this thread. Made me and OH laugh. We had decided you should put them in water, wait five days and stir fry if no flowers appear!

    I shouldn't think the flowers were a subsitute for any veg, just a seasonal extra. I'd think any farmer would have an abundance of these near his farm and is just being kind. Although by the sounds of it he should've put a note in with them!

    This thread reminded me of an old friend who accidently cut up and ate!!!:eek: daffodil bulbs that she thought were onions! When she realised she rushed herself to A&E ( apparently the bulbs are poisonous) where she was seen by a consultant. They kept her in hospital for a while but the doctor did say she should be out in the spring!!!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Well i have put them in water and am hoping for the best lol I did try ringing the farm but coudnt get an answer!

    We do get a proposed list each week, and i did get everything on this list plus 2 extra then the pansys and daffs (?) so i don't think they are a substitute.

    Thats what confused me though, really asn't suspecting flowers in a veg box! Mind you it will be the only flowers i do get this year so im smiling about it lol

    Will let you know if they open!
