I'm amazed you found a new Dell Latitude for £440 unless it was used. Back then it would have been the 4/6/810 or early 4/6/820 series and they were around £1000 new.

It was refurbished, seem to remember it was a good couple of hundred quid cheaper than a brand new one at the time.

Got really excited when I saw that but on clicking through it's only 11.6 inches and not a high res one.

Yes I know, small compromise. 1366 x 768 not enough?

Really appreciated your suggestions to try and help, but to me an 11 inch is out of the question, you would not fit much on a screen of that size.

So whilst with that resolution on that size of screen, I would imagine the icons/text/etc doesn't look so childishly large which is one thing I want to avoid, the disadvantage is that you don't fit much on the screen - which would be a big issue for me when I restart matched betting unfortunately.

That has the nipple but also the low resolution. This is the problem I have, each of those on their own seems fairly sparse, but to get the two of them together seems nigh on impossible! It's making me feel as though I must be being really picky, but then I think, actually I only have 2 requirements which is probably less than most people :p

Big Pockets have a good range of ex business laptops, worth a look maybe.

    Sony VPCEB4X0EBQ

    Intel® Core™ i5-480M Processor
    Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64bit
Blu-ray Disc™ ROM Drive with DVD SuperMulti
    4GB DDR3 SDRAM & 500GB Hard disc drive
15.5 Inch VAIO Display with WXGA 1920x1080 resolution

Grade A2, which apparently means some cosmetic damage.

Retailer may not be the easiest with whom to deal.

£475 plus another £30 for their 12 month warranty.

New Full HD laptops(ASUS) start at around £620.

Looks like that has a great display - no nipple though unfortunately. I do keep swaying myself back to thinking I can manage without one. But then given I bought a laptop without one previously and ended up having to return it I'm not so sure.

I kind of wish I'd never used a nipple and then wouldn't know how fiddly touchpads are, and it wouldn't be a problem.

I am feeling quite tempted by that one you've posted, but I think reaslistically I'd get too frustrated with the touchpad...

Just looking at other laptops on your link. this one has the nipple, but doesn't give the screen res so I don't know if it would be right or not:
