Morning all,
Indeed Jess. Still a good option though.
It never rains but it pours. DH has just tested positive for Covid (currently I'm still negative). Am considering moving to my Dad's (him and fiancee have just jetted off to Egypt). I, on the other hand, am feeling much much better for the first time in about a fortnight, hooray!
I need to finish the work I didn't do yesterday (ended up napping yesterday afternoon and then getting a takeaway - we did have a voucher so it was £15 instead of £24 and it was Korean so healthy, filling and really tasty - much needed after barely any food for 24 hours (and not a lot before that).)
If I'm still negative (will test again before I go), I'm due to visit the allotments this afternoon to see which one I want.
MS things:
* Clicks done
* Comps entered
* Weekend plans cancelled (again!), so no pudding needed and petrol/electric saved (pushing too hard for silver lining?)
* MM survey done
Gratitudes:
* So far, I'm negative
* It's a nice day, so windows open is pleasant rather than freezing
* We have plenty of food in
I probably won't go to Dad's - while DH says it would be OK, I know I'd feel pretty rubbish if I was abandoned (I am only considering it because BIL's wedding is weekend after next and I don't want to test positive in a couple of days really).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Oh yes, that's already in place... I need to change the bed though as he decamped there last night as he couldn't sleep. As it's my office, it makes sense for me to sleep there though. (He did offer me his office and he could sleep/work in here, but then I'd need to change our bed on my own, which would be more difficult!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Oh no! Sorry to hear this
Separate sleeping is a very good idea, absolutely, keep yourself as well as you can.
2023: the year I get to buy a car6 -
Have decided to jump through the hoops for the extra interest and £100 experience days voucher - have just opened a donor a/c, which I'll set up a DD to pay into Vanguard and switch my phone bill to there (so many of my DDs are already tied up in fulfilling requirements for other a/c or are earning me cashback/rewards elsewhere!). Once the donor a/c is showing I'll open the V Money one. 5% interest isn't to be sniffed at these days!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Evening all (although it's still daylight outside, yay!),
I've been and chosen my allotment, very exciting! It has a shed, a greengage tree, some unidentifiable bushes and a water butt. There's also quite a bit of stuff in the shed, which I think I get to keep as the previous owner has handed in his key... It'll cost £55 for the year, plus a deposit (£30?) for the shed, which I get back when I return the plot. I've told the council lady which one I'm having and I just have to wait till she sends me an invoice, pay it and then I'll get my key. The shed needs some tlc as the roof felt was damaged in the storms, but I'm sure DH can fix that for me. Can't wait to get started now, although obviously it'll be a couple of weeks before I've got a key. The local allotment association has a shop too to buy hardware and veg/fruit plants from - I'm told it's reasonably priced, so will check that out.
I've also been making the origami toppers for March's birthday/wedding/anniversary cards as part of my nothing new in '22 challenge (which also happens to be very MSE). All up to date on work at the moment (client says I need the break - he's heard rather a lot about my teeth, trips to A&E etc lately!).
MS things:
* PA survey done
* MM survey done
* Picked an allotment with a shed full of useful stuff!
* Just had an email to say tomorrow between 4.30 and 6.30 we've got another Octopus turn down session (apparently we usually use less power then so we have to reduce by less... but we only use .36kWh normally, so it's going to be tricky!
Gratitudes:
* Met another newbie at the allotments, so I'll know someone already
* Allotment man seemed friendly and helpful
* Lovely day today!
* Reduced NY cheesecake may have slipped into my basket at the Coop earlier!
Have a good evening all!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Ooh, lovely about your allotment! Can you share pictures as you it up and running? 😁5

Wonderful news, congratulations! I had to do an image search for 'greengage tree' of course
and oh my word, thats good! Definitely another vote for pictures as you go along.
I'd not heard of toppers at all, oops, but I did an image search for them tooand to do them of origami sounds a great idea. I can definitely see me using my stash later on this year and making cards of mixed media, even if it's just a dream for me, it's a nice one.

Congratulations on your greengage. Just to add, now is the time to prune it if it needs any - dead, dying or crossing removed (or further training if none of the afore-mentioned). We planted ours about 8 years ago and did not prune it well enough in the first few years and it got too tall. After two years of "re-education" we had good fruit from it last year. Pruned our Victoria last week, as it is covered in buds. I wonder what the mystery bushes are? This link is good for pruning advice if you are not sure RHS
