@Chiglepig, well if you have a house you like in a nice location, you’re sorted! The house we’re in now was never intended to be our forever home (or even a more-than-five-years home). While we love the house itself, the location and limited outside space/lack of privacy mean that we’ve always intended to move. (While the house we’re looking at is exciting and unusual -albeit not a windmill, sorry Cheery! - with a few modifications, I’d be happy with our current house if we could transplant it. Problem is, it’s a terrace, so not sure the neighbours would be too happy! 😂Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning all,
Thanks again Cheery and Fortune for all the advice. Today is more of the same drudgery as yesterday (possibly with a wangled cuppa at mum's as I need to pop down to her town for a couple of things). I have a list and will work through it. Fence painting and deep cleaning the bathroom are the two main points. At least we don't have to paint the garage door again - horrible job!
I've done the small amount of work I've received. The big project I'm meant to get every week has been put on hold for another week - just hope it doesn't disappear.
MS things:
* Clicks done - won a few pence on free spins
* PA at £19.42 - with ~£5 to clear, which is annoying
* We did have a delivery from R'ford this morning, but specific things we don't have in the garden, rather than a pre-selected veg box. Have cancelled Friday's milk.
* Ebay sale money transferred to savings,
* Have listed another item on Ebay
Gratitudes:
* Last visit last night with my lovely cat-sitting charges. I'll miss them (but fortunately expect to see them again as they're my new friend's cats)
* I had a bit of a lie in as I didn't have to feed cats/visit Tesco!
* Sunshine here

Laughing at the idea of you transplanting a terrace to the middle of a field, and the neighbours left staring at a gaping hole wondering where their TV went 😂😂
Good luck with today's activities!6 -
Just catching up - loving the chat! And it's very exciting too!2023: the year I get to buy a car4

Morning all (just),
It's an amusing thought Cheery, although I don't think the neighbours would be too impressed. We had a lovely chat with both sides last night (I was painting the fence on the driveway, so it was productive for me - we were out there at least an hour! They now know that the house is back on the market. Interestingly, one side isn't planning on staying more than a couple of years anyway. The other side are the council's star tenants - if there was an award, they'd win it: he does all the work on the house himself and is constantly improving things. They've got a disabled daughter and an extension just for her, so are never going to move. They're lovely neighbours - never have an issue with either side. It's just location... oh, I digress!
This morning I had a small amount of work to do, but it was promising as things are beginning to open up in America and this reflects on the amount of work I'll get from my clients. To illustrate, my current tally for work for this client for 'August' (tally started a couple of days ago so they could issue a PO for July) is already half of the amount for the whole of July! Fingers crossed this continues, especially with mortgage applications looming (although they'll take last year's figures into account).
No fence painting today as forecast is grotty. Am cleaning/tidying more of the house, but this is hampered a bit by DH being on calls/in meetings - can't exactly hoover while he's doing that. Suspect I'll be able to get on with it a bit more this afternoon, as he's having his second jab later and probably will stop work at that point.
MS things:
* Clicks done (no HW wins today)
* Surveys done
* Lunch will be avocado and egg on toast with free avos and free bread
* Dinner last night was Salmon with rhubarb and chard (the latter two both from the garden) - such a tasty recipe
Gratitudes:
* Lovely chats with neighbours
* The last chocolate twist for elevenses

Thanks ladies!
So we loved the house on Saturday. I won't say more yet...
We've got 14 viewings booked for our open day this afternoon, so I've spent the morning getting the final clean and tidy done. This has not been helped by a cat with diarrhoea... just what you need. For now, he's shut in the cloakroom which is where the litter trays live (and he's had some binding paste from the vets). Unfortunately though, he's the stressy B&W cat who won't let you trim him and tidy up his rear end, unlike his brother who is as good as gold when it comes to these things. We're (me and the cats) off to BIL's house while the open day happens, so I'm going to have to sit with him in their bathroom for three hours! (Fortunately BIL and fiancee are away (commiserating their second non-wedding day - long story!).
I've just spoken to the EA for the house we'd like to buy - apparently they've just had an offer come in but it is on the low side and wouldn't be a straightforward purchase, so she'll also make the point to the vendor that we're keen and would be a straightforward buy. So it would be great if we could get a FTB with oodles of money to buy ours! We still need to hear back from the mortgage advisor I spoke to last week though - if it's not possible to get a normal residential mortgage (with normal residential rates) then it's probably a no-go. So.... fingers crossed for this afternoon and the mortgage advisor please!!

Lots of fingers cross for you! Sorry about the cat 🙄 glad you've got somewhere to go.
Do report back, this is all extremely exciting!5 -
Well we made it out of the house in time - handed over to estate agent and now I’m just recovering in the car (cats are being remarkably quiet) before moving us all (inc litter trays of course) into BIL’s. EA had found another viewer, so back up to 15! 🤞
If it’s this difficult navigating an open house, I hate to think what it will be like actually moving!! 🙄Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
