Oh dear Vix, we have been in that position before when house hunting and I’ve actually told the agent selling the desired property that we would unlike to use them and wish to sell but are only looking currently due to it being that particular property we want.Usually those properties have gone straight away though anyway, so it’s probably bad advice 😆MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3

Thanks NG. New plan is to lie outright and say house is sold stc, so we can at least have a look! I’ll use my maiden name (which I use professionally anyway, so not really a deception). I can’t see another way without messing others around hugely. I don’t think saying it’s just that house were interested in would make any difference - I get that they don’t want time wasters (have been on the receiving end of that). But we don’t want to put our house on the market and mess our estate agents around. Will ring them (our EA) and have a chat with them re an up to date valuation and see if they’ve got any customers in the books who could come for a look without them having to spend money marketing our house… if the other property is still available of course - that’ll be my first call. I hate the thought of having to lie and know I’ll lose sleep over it, but we’re just going to come up against this time and again and we’ll never move if we don’t.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

That sounds a good compromise, Vix - I spoke to a nephew last week, very unusually, they were trying to sell a flat in London last year to move to a house, and took it off the market in the end - there were so many people *leaving* London in the pandemic, flats at their level didn't really have much of a market. Which shocked me! But he said that that particular population movement seems to have stabilised now, so the logjam at your end of things might ease up soon. Just hoping on your behalf!2023: the year I get to buy a car3

Thanks Karma. Not sure that’ll make any difference, unless you mean that demand for such houses may go down because people will stop moving out? Not sure about that - I think to some extent the change is here to stay but I’m sure it’ll slow down.
Today I’ve turned some on the turn milk from Weds’ Olio collection into paneer. Had a go with some other milk the other day but didn’t get it right, so we also have ricotta, which will pair nicely with some garden spinach for dinner tonight. I thought about making ravioli, but don’t think I can be bothered - I’ll use dried pasta instead.
I earned my fee cat sitting this morning - arrived to find a kitchen shelf off the wall that had had wine glasses hanging underneath. It was a glass-strewn mess (houseplant also involved so soil everywhere too). Fortunately DH had decided to run from cats’ house home for his run so I called him back and he helped me check the cats were ok (they were, and why were we taking so long with breakfast?!) and tidy up.
MS things:
* cheese making
* YG survey done
* QMee @ £9
* cat sitting!
* came back from a bbq yesterday with a baguette and cupcakes - did for tea last night and we’ve finished the baguette for lunch today.
Gratitudes:
* lovely time at bbq yesterday despite nit knowing many of the people there well
* cats were ok
* paneer has come out well! 😊
enjoy the rest of Sunday folks!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Just a quick update while I’m with the cats (they’re eating) before I head to Tesco for another collection (that I wish I hadn’t said I’d cover!).
Crazy day today - we now have a viewing of the house booked for Saturday pm, our house is back on the market and we have 13 viewings booked for open day on Monday!! Things can move very quickly it seems!! The fact we’d done our research about the property clinched it when it came to getting a viewing - definitely something to remember!
Have spent afternoon getting more paint on the fence, cutting grass and getting rid of a few things out of the house.
* 3 eBay sales (2 posted today, another one still to go)
* won £2 on the happy wheel, withdrew £5 from bookie of accumulated winnings

Morning all,
Thanks for the fingers crossed. Feeling the stress right now! Lots to get sorted by Monday here, and need to get our heads ready for viewing on Saturday - do all the research, have all the questions ready! Are we mad to be considering making an offer after one viewing? I don't want to talk too much about this house until we've seen it, so I'll fill you in if we make an offer/have offers accepted on ours (they're having to extend the Open Day, so the EA seems to think it'll sell above asking price!)
Had a lovely day out with brownie friends yesterday - visited Hughenden Manor, home of Benjamin Disraeli. Very interesting and nice to explore somewhere new. Discovered I had £5 on an NT gift card, so that contributed to lunch. Sadly this was outweighed by spending on a couple of bits for niece in the shop - in my defence, I've been waiting until she's old enough for the (visitor passport and record book for things to do before you're 11 and three-quarters) and she's having a tough time at the moment, so I thought an unexpected surprise would be nice.
MS things:
* Free main course for DH last night, kindly gifted by our friends who are setting up an Indian meals side hustleIt was served with matar paneer using the paneer I'd made, a free naan from Olio and rice, so a pretty cheap meal.
* Clicks done
* Surveys done - am getting better at leaving them until the evening and then blitzing through
* Last day with my cats today, but need to contact owner of next lot (beginning 9th August)
* Another Ebay sale!
* Have had money from courts for jury service, so transferred the amount that's needed for tax from that - the rest will help with my paltry earnings this month... I need to claim SEISS 5 but can't because of mortgage application! Aaargh! (Hopefully can do it after we've got mortgage through)
* £12.38 moved to savings (all OPs now on hold as we'll need cash for move)
Gratitudes:
* Lovely day yesterday
* Church bells were being rung most of the time we were visiting
* Both cat-sitting cats have now sat on my lap, briefly
Have a good day all!

I think it's fine to offer after one viewing - although maybe I'm just saying that because we did 😂 It sounds like it'll be busy anyway so you may not have any choice if you want it! As long as you've done your research in advance, which you have, I'm sure it'll be fine. Fingers all still crossed!
