The Sainsbury's near me was still selling reduced frozen turkeys last week, if you've got one near you it could be worth checking on your way to Costco?Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days
Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed
Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!3 -
Thanks SC, but in the current circumstances I'm not going to take the chance - I don't really want to go to Costco as it is (and I need other bits there anyway).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning all,
In other news, when I mentioned to DH about the OP allowance having renewed he decided to pay what we can off now rather than waiting until March. So mortgage is now £53,810.81 and we can't make any more OPs until the deal expires in March. That will save us a few pounds in interest, in any case.
Dinner last night was a 'roast' (chicken breast for DH, veggie sausages for me), mostly using up things from the freezer - 4 takeaway tubs removed! Used the IP for various bits of it, which seemed to work well.
Busy day today! Supermarket delivery coming between 11 and 12, need to go to Costco, got to take Mum's shopping to her and have an Ebay parcel to post and an RM survey item to send too. Also need to finish homework for evening class tonight. Of course, I had a terrible night's sleep last night, right when I have lots to do. Have already done the two small work tasks acquired overnight.
MS things:
* OP done!
* RM survey posting (we now haven't had any post for 6 days.... still waiting for birthday cards... and RM website doesn't mention our town as having problems!)
* Clicks done
* Work done
Gratitudes:
* My supermarket delivery
* Netflix (some good lol moments watching Modern Family last night)
* Parcel couriers doing collections - saving me having to drop off elsewhere.
Have a good day all!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

One of my nephews told me a good tip about Netflix - explore the site on a blank account, so that you don't end up in an echo chamber of similar productions, and watch what you want to watch on a different account (you can have at least a couple of accounts) - the recommendations when you do that are really different on each account.
Mmmmm, veggie sausages. Haven't had any for ages ....2023: the year I get to buy a car2 -
Morning all,
Like it, Karma, that is a useful tip. Started watching something yesterday that will be a good programme for me to watch when DH isn't around (we watch most things together, which means my options are limited when he's not here/busy with work).
Tiny amount of work this morning. Am about to chop up the cats' chicken, which is just cooling now. Need various birthday cards for the rest of the month - not sure what to do about them. Some I definitely can't make, none I have the inclination to make, one I definitely could make; I don't really want to spend the extortionate amounts charged by the local newsagent (and 3 are family ones, so I should make the effort... although of those, two haven't sent me one....). I'll make the one for the 2 year old. Might see how much ordering some online costs. I've got a notelet that could be used for another one...
MS things:
* PA surveys
* Clicks done
* Refund received for returned item
Gratitudes:
* Saw Mum when I dropped her shopping off yesterday (obviously standing on the driveway)
* Dad has finally booked a supermarket delivery(had a nice chat too)
* Evening class went well (despite not actually finishing the homework, which you can get away with when on screen and not in person!)
Have a good day all! (Think it might be free croissant time)Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Karmacat, you are so right! The differences between all our accounts here are hilarious sometimes, mines the serial killer one 😆

Mine are the apocalyptic ones, when I stay at theirs for a fortnight at a time

My Mum swears by card factory for cards. I must admit I bought a stash in the summer and that is what people are getting now!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far
I also Reverse Meal Plan on that thread and grow much of our own premium price fruit and veg, joining in on the Grow your own thread
My new diary is here3 -
Thanks ladies. I went the card factory route in the end. With postage definitely not as cheap as in store (where I usually get them as for a long time they were best for plastic free), but still cheaper than over the road. When they arrive remains to be seen with our sporadic post, but hopefully it’ll be before some of the dates at least!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thanks for this - I remembered this conversation at 5am this morning, and looked at The Works on my phone
they had some gorgeous Christmas cards of dinosaurs on sale, but when I tried to add them to the basket, they were sold out (not surprised - they were adorable!). I'll hop over to Card Factory now.
