Thanks SC. Just had a video call with her and apart from a spotty belly you wouldn't know there was much wrong with her - much brighter than over the weekend!
Just heading out for my walk.
* 2 x PA surveys done
* £1.22 TT to OP savings (am considering making an OP - it won't be the £651 I need to stay on target, but it would be something, with more in the savings for future OPs) (Meanwhile the work shares DH sold may turn into a teardrop caravan for the mini instead of an OP.... wouldn't be the end of the world!... not in a position to make that decision yet though).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning all,
Went for a decent walk yesterday morning and I think the heat got the better of me. Had a nap when we got back and spent most of the day fairly lethargic. I did bake some chocolate muffins and start on the bunting though.
This morning I've completed the small amount of work that had arrived overnight and done some CPD (sounds far fancier than it was - watching some YT videos for a client!). I've been forewarned that there's a small project arriving later in the week from my European client, which is good.
Things are growing well in the garden and FIL gave me two sunflower seedlings the other day, so I need to get them in the soil today. I'll also pop over the road to the local hardware store and see if they've got some tomato feed, as I'm running out. If not, I'll have to get the bike out and take a trip to the garden centre.
R'ford delivery has arrived, so I need to admire that and put it all away - currently greedy ginger cat is sniffing and trying to see if it's of any interest to him!
MS things:
* £64 paid off cc from excess budgets
* Clicks done
* DH used up what of the turkey he could in a curry - a portion there for tonight too; cats will have the rest
* Have decided to make £300 OP after the monthly payment has been taken - this is the majority of my OP savings pot. DH is still getting paid full whack and we'd be OK if that's all we had (just).
Gratitudes:
* Runner bean plants - never ceases to amaze me how quickly they grow!
* Nice walk yesterday - could have been anywhere and saw/heard skylarks
* Al fresco dining
Have a good day all! (*Wonders, now she's mentioned it, is it too early for a chocolate muffin for elevenses....*)

By the way, it's never too early for chocolate muffins 🧁

Envious of your garden success
mine are not going well this year and have endless problems. I've had a good sort out in the last couple of days so Fingerscrossed things start to get easier. I've decided to start focusing small. Sowed a pot of salad leaves yesterday and will look after it carefully. Cucumber plants look pretty dead already and dealing with mildew tomato plants which have tried to clean up. Only time will tell in the next couple of days.

Fortune - you're definitely not alone! I've recently joined the 'Riverford Tribe', which is a Facebook group for Riverford customers and about the only thing worth visiting FB for! People frequently post photos of their deliveries, or the stone that looks like a potato (and was in with the potatoes), or their success at unravelling the potato bag string! It's a really positive, foody, friendly group with a huge wealth of ideas and knowledge. It really does feel like I've found my 'tribe' there. Was a bit disappointed with my spring onions as about half were a bit past it. However, I did a web chat with R'ford and they refunded me the appropriate amount no questions asked, there and then. I've never had to do that before and was very impressed. I do love them! (Held off on the muffin until about 10.30!)
SL - glad to hear you've indulged - that does sound good(I love the smell of bacon and inhale deeply, despite not having eaten it for 20+ years!)
Kaycastle - I think you must be confusing me with another more successful gardener!!That said, it is all going well, but it is also all in very small quantities - only one tomato this year, 3 peppers (unintentionally) and 4 broad bean, 4 runners and 4 peas. I'm definitely not going to be able to live on it (except the rhubarb!!). I hope your tomatoes survive the mildew and the cukes come back from the brink.
I have made my first bunting triangle! Annoyingly went to give it its last press and managed to dirty it with the iron!Am hoping I can wash the mark off and will clean the iron before continuing. Now I've done one it doesn't seem quite as difficult anymore - and hopefully it won't take as long! Just had lunch with DH - a quick one as he's now in another meeting, but it's so nice to be able to stop and eat together at midday, it really improves life!

I once almost applied to work in Customer Service for Riverford and later heard through a distant acquaintance that their daughter had got the job and people were constantly moaning at her about their organic veg, so I thought I'd had a lucky escape. But I'm loving the sound of the Tribe - very appreciative, and much more grateful than the customers where I ended up 😡!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Glad your niece is ok Vix, that must of been very worrying. I’ve just cancelled my repeat order for riverford and am feeling a bit guilty, but it’s just salad we are eating at the moment and we get through too much, the salad boxes are so much dearer. Think I may flip back once we go back to using more veg and start eating more autumnal meals.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5

We are reducing our salad purchases as the garden starts to provide - lots of French breakfast radishes and different leaves are ready to start pulling and snipping - we need to plant a few more so there is a succession planting. Dwarf beans are a good quick easy crop - growing the size of a large cauliflower they keep giving for monthsSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
